I smoked Troost slices in my college days, a Cavendish cured in orange peel. Mild and very flavorful. Have a nice Ben Wade free form that still has the flavor.Anyone ever try Troost Slices in the tin? Supposed to be pretty darn good, but can't get it here in the US.
These days when I break out a pipe, it's something a littler stouter - 3 Noggins, or I still like to rub McBaren's Roll Cake. The only pipe I pick up anymore is a short bulldog - the type you'd see someone biting when they were driving a roadster or flying an airplane. It's a nice hands-free pipe for fly fishing, which requires both hands most of the time.
BTW, you can still get Troost slices in the pouches
