Anyone ever try Troost Slices in the tin? Supposed to be pretty darn good, but can't get it here in the US.
I smoked Troost slices in my college days, a Cavendish cured in orange peel. Mild and very flavorful. Have a nice Ben Wade free form that still has the flavor.
These days when I break out a pipe, it's something a littler stouter - 3 Noggins, or I still like to rub McBaren's Roll Cake. The only pipe I pick up anymore is a short bulldog - the type you'd see someone biting when they were driving a roadster or flying an airplane. It's a nice hands-free pipe for fly fishing, which requires both hands most of the time.

BTW, you can still get Troost slices in the pouches

I've posted this before:

A Dr. Grabow Lark estate pipe.

It's served me well so far, though the bowl can get very hot. Is this a problem?

It hasn't arrived yet, but I ordered this MacArthur model corn cob pipe from Missouri Meerschaum.

From their website: "Our MacArthur pipe is the pipe made famous by General Douglas MacArthur. It was made for him at our plant in Washington to his precise specifications. It is offered in two different versions, both being unfiltered. The bent stem version has a polished bowl while the straight stem has a totally natural bowl. We proudly still offer this pipe as a tribute to the General and to all our military men and women."

That is a beautiful pipe.

I smoked a pipe for many years before becoming enamoured with cigars. I still have them all and smoke them from time to time. I have mostly brairs, a few meerschaums and a couple of corncobs. My oldest pipe is a Dr. Grabow that I started out on when I was 16.

I just got this GBD Wellington. I've wanted one for years, got this for a steal on the 'Bay. It's the biggest pipe I own and that includes two gourd calabashes. It's not just the overall size, the tobacco chamber is very large. Shown with an average billiard for scale.
