Just signed up. So I thought I should post here first. I build my own Dual Sports from vintage BMW airheads using my own unique suspension designs.

Here's my daily ride a modded R75/6.

....but in all fairness I'm now reworking that R65 into a competition desert rally bike.

I also have a relatively stock 1977 R100RS (for the purists out there)

What can I say... I like vintage BMWs :D

Nice '77. We have one too albeit with a 1050 kit and cam. I'm building a boxer right now with a DRZ400 front end, too.

Bowen,
Yes, the end of that daily stop was in Anamosa IA.(National Motorcycle Museum). The next "leg" was from Cedar Rapids to Spirit Lake.
I would guess there were 200 bikes (1929) or older in the Rally. steve

Been through a couple of bikes in the past several years, trying to get just the right one, including a Royal Enfield and a Guzzi Racer. I'll post pics of both here. But the bike I've ended up with is a 2017 Triumph Bonneville "Bobber." Yes, no such thing as a factory bobber, I agree. But I like the bike, and first thing I did was take off the airbox/side panels embossed with "bobber," which makes me feel a bit better. Next up for mods, fenders and lights... [Well, Guzzi pics won't load...]

I think Triumph made a clever move with the Bobbers; a style of bike that competes in the market for folks who are influenced by the Harley style but don't feel any need to "buy American". Money no object, I certainly would consider one.

Please note this is the before pic as I will be making some changes to it over the winter.
