A fragment of Revi 16B gunsight from Fw 190 F-8 WNr. 932671 that crashed in the near village on 3.IX.1944. Pilot Fähnrich Otto John in the accident died.

There was a very interesting show on a few years ago, that compared the German uniforms to the Russian during the winter of 1940. The Russians came out the winner hands down!

DDR "Deutsche Demokratische Republik" M56 Stahlhelm [steel helmet]

The East German M-56 helmet was originally designed in 1942 as a replacement for the M1935/M1940 model Stahlhelms. The design was never progressed and was unused until the requirement for a new German helmet for the Volkspolizei and the National People's Army arose, it being realized that the reintroduction of the Stahlhelm would not have been tolerated by the Soviet Union.

This helmet is the Model 1/56 with a M31 style leather liner very similar to the liner used during WWII in the M35/M40 steel helmets

The markings stamped inside the steel shell:

II - 6 - 59

indicate that the shell is a size Medium manufactured in June 1959.

The M1 helmet was adopted in 1941 to replace the M1917 helmet, Over 22 million U.S. M-1 steel helmets were manufactured by September 1945 at the end of World War II

M1917A1 Steel Helmet

The first American steel helmet was adopted during World War I as the M1917 "Doughboy" helmet. The M1917A1, adopted in 1939, had only minor changes and was visually almost identical. In 1941, the M1917A1 helmet was replaced by the M-1 "steel pot" helmet in all the armed services, although it did not become universal for at least another year.

The M1917A1 was used in many battles in the early part of WWII, WAKE ISLAND, GUADALCANAL, The Solomon Islands campaign was a major campaign of the Pacific War of World War II.

German Reservistenkrug dated 1907 named to a Reservist Reiling of 11th Company, 4th Baden Infantry Regiment "Prinz Wilhelm*" No. 112 garrisoned in Mülhausen (now Mulhouse, France). In 1914 the Prinz Wilhelm Regiment was part of 58th Brigade, 29th Division, XIV Corps (Baden-Württemberg) which served on the Western Front.

Here's some of my WWII collection-

The uniform belonged to my grandfather; he was in the Coast Guard prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. During the war he pulled convoy duty in the Atlantic. The sword is a late-pattern Japanese NCO's shin gunto, and the dagger is a Nazi SA dagger in excellent condition.

Here's some other swag- my grandmother's ration books, her father's Selective Service Medal for serving in the draft board, and campaign medals belonging to my dad's dad- he was a Seabee.

Can Do! Has there ever been a more appropriate motto? I know the Japanese were shocked at how fast the SeaBees could build airfields. On Guadalcanal, the ship carrying their bulldozers was sunk, so they got the sabotaged Japanese dozers running, ate Japanese rations and built Henderson Field. The Japanese built large numbers of float-planes, because they could not build runways fast. They even put the Zero on floats.

Orlando native Clarence "C.A." Johnson was a 1959 graduate of The Citadel and after a brief stint in the Air Force returned to Orlando to run the family-owned business Johnson's Men's Shop. There exists several different 3305th PTG patches but this one is rare and unique as The Fireballs were an aerobatic demonstration team in the 3305th made up of the best students.
