I usually wear a sidepart, but today I thought I should try to part it in the middle. I'm quite pleased with the result.

I set my hair like that often too. It looks great on you!
And great blog, thanks for the link.

Also I just got a new hair cut! It's just a quick set because I was so curious to see how it turned out.

(Sorry I can't figure out how to make the pic smaller.)

Isis, I just love that! Ginfizz - I wish you'd post a bigger picture to appreciate it!

This is my last nice hair-set before catching a cold :D

Couldn't resist it :D - It's just so hard to try for a nice smile and catch a good view of your hair!

That means a lot, coming from you, Rue, thank you! As for the smoothness - coconut oil-based pomade seems to do the trick. If only superhuman effort wasn't involved, when calculating the amount :D

Juliet - your hair looks amazing! Am so jealous, having just started to get into vintage hair styles, I'm struggling to achieve anything that I would leave the house with! Any hints and tips for a newbie??

Miss C, thank you very much! I can only give so much advice, but I guess, what I would advise is:

1. Look at this channel. It helped me a lot in figuring out the basics!

http://www.youtube.com/user/VividMakeup

2. Rollers aren't for everyone. I still don't get a good result with rollers - only with pins.
3. Maybe your hair likes to be set wet with a setting lotion/mousse. Maybe it likes being set dry, and then sprayed with water. Just experiment.
4. I only get good results with overnight sets. An hour gives a pretty slight wave for me but that's it.
5. Try different setting lotions/mousses, etc.
6. Don't give up! And keep brushing! :)
7. Different brushes do wonders in brushing out. For example - I brush the curls out with a bristle brush, then I spray all over with hairspray, brush gently with a wire brush (with those little rounds balls on the ends, am I making sense?), and I pin the bangs in place as I would like them to stay. And after about 15 min I remove those pins.

I'm sorry for being less than informative, but I hope this helps!

Rue, you can't deny it - you are an inspiration! And be careful with that pomade - a tad too much, and it's greasy! But with the right amount the result is very impressive, best I've ever got.

Juliet, I have no idea what happened. At first it was huge and then I thought I resized it just a little and it became really tiny.

By the way your hair looks wonderful!
