lol now it works!. This pistol is a S&W 3rd generation 1076 10mm. I'm a huge fan of the 3rd gen guns. Came from the factory with night sites also. I use 185gr. hollow points at 1300 fps when I carry. It certainly packs a wallop.

The 3rd Gens were some solid workhorses. When my agency switched from the revolver to a semi auto in 1991 we were issued the 4046. We carried that until 2005. Mine resides in the safe at home and when I take it out its like shaking hands with an old friend.

They sure were/are Kirk. I still have a 4006 bought new in the early 90s. In fact when I went to buy a holster for it they were hard to find. I found a fellow in the NW that said he'd use mine as a pattern if I wanted to send it. So I did. He made me a nice black horsehide scabbard which I still use for carry. Back then he was called Proline Leather today he goes buy Kramer leather.

That brings back memories. I remember seeing adds in the gun mags for Proline back in the day. Yeah I remember trying to find off-duty leather for the 4046. Our detectives were issued Don Hume pancake holsters so we were able to get those.

Don Hume certainly makes nice gun leather. Yup I believe that's where I found him, in Hand Gum magazine. Just received another of the same style from Kramer for a 4013TSW. Same quality and finish. Let's see if I can get another picture to up load. Hey it worked!

Never used? It looks like it hasn't ever been touched! Oh, my. Oh my, oh my, oh my!

Nice, I picked up what I think is an EG model in 300 Savage some years back at a Tyler, Tx gun show. The show was really a bust, not many vendors showed up, due to bad weather and a very big show going on that same weekend in Houston. Mine is a late 1940's vintage, and was well used, and not abused, and came with an old Weaver K 4 scope with a Lee dot reticule, which I was told was worth more than the gun??

Interesting gun, and not a bad shooter.

Nothing to show, but I "bit the bullet" so to speak yesterday, and placed a deposit and a pre order for a CZ 527 mini mauser in 6.5 Grendel. I had thought abut rebarreling one of the 7.62 cal rifles, but would rather go new factory. The nearest dealer called and found out that only 300 rifles are coming to the US, and that 293 were already committed, hence my pre order. It should be about a 90 day wait.

I have one of these, and I'll tell you Kimber has some fantastic customer service. I owned mine not even a month when the black started to peel off. I called customer service and was told to send back the weapon at no charge to me and that they would redo the blacking. I thought about it after I got off the phone and called them back. I asked that instead of re blacking would they instead change it to the aluminum shade. They said and did. I'll tell you to me it looks so much better all aluminum instead of the standard aluminum and black.
As a side note, of all the mass market 1911's I've seen, I would rank Kimber at the top when it comes to the fit and finish of the internals.

I agree. While I started in the revolver days (1981), I did occasionally carry an S&W Model 59 in the early 80s. My agency switched from revolvers in 1987 and most of us carried Glocks (Sig 226 and Beretta 92s were the only other options). I switched agencies in 1989 and was issued a 5906 - and was not happy about giving up my Glock. But a day at the range made me a believer in those 3rd Gen S&Ws! My 5906 was a tack-driver and I bought it from the Sheriff's Office when they upgraded a few years later. If it wasn't so heavy, I'd probably still carry it now and then.
