Don't have one and no one I know here is wearing one. They are probably a good idea for a modest amount of protection but I am happy with 6 ft distance between myself and work colleagues.

We are told that older people are more vulnerable and for that reason I wear this mask.

The only time that I go out is for provisions, and that's only weekly. It probably isn't much use but it tends to give my wife peace of mind. She's a retired paramedic, the mask came out of her first aid kit. That small square you see inside the mask can be removed to replace the filter, the black line to the right of it forms an air tight seal over the bridge of the nose and for a better grip she replaced the flimsy rubber bands with much stronger elastic ones. In another thread I told about a comment as I was standing in the queue to enter the supermarket. At the time I was wearing a hat and sunglasses as well as the mask, another shopper said that I looked like Darth Vader in his Sunday best hat.

I know that non-approved facial coverings are not supposed to do a whole lot in this circumstance, but I feel better keeping my nose and mouth covered when I am around people, which, these days, is only during mandatory food shopping.

This bandana is 16x16 and was custom made by my wife because I wanted one bigger than the standard 12x12.

I wash them in Oxiclean and hot water after each wearing to kill any bacteria I exhale.

I also wear playtex rubber dishwashing gloves. Very sturdy and reusable. I put them on before I touch anything after I've exited and locked the car.

I bring some alcohol wipes and clean the gloves after everything I've purchased is in the car, and before I touch the steering wheel or anything else. Then when I get home I sanitize all the packaging of what I've bought, re-clean the gloves and put them back in the car.

This Runabout Goods Denim Head mask came today.

The pleated detail is functional but it also harkens back to the pleated front denim jackets from the 40’s and 50’s. The outer fabric is a 9oz. White Oak 2X1 denim which has the proper weight balance for structure without the extra weight.

Chin box pleat detail eliminates gaping around the bottom and streamlines the on contact with the side face for a superior fit.

We've fused the back of the denim fabric with Black woven 100% Poly fusing for an extra layer of protection and structure.

Aluminum wire is sewn into the top of the mask so that you can mold it to the bridge of your nose for a secure fit.

Red elastic 1/4“ straps are the perfect finishing touch for this fused denim mask. One small copper rivet on the wearers left side is our identifiable mark.

A simple mask, but made from denim, very enterprising. Does this mask remind you of anything?

Even in a pandemic there's a shekel or two to be made. I think that the mask is supposed to look like this.

Something I made a few of for myself towards the beginning of this. They took around 15 minutes to make each after getting my machine setup. I chose to use head ties because ear loops made from elastic can become very irritating after extended use.

I ordered a few from Runabout and am quite pleased with the quality. I especially like the chambray mask. Wife likes the flowery version. Also have the pleated denim. Haven't worn that one yet.

I wore a Runabout Goods Defender mask today on my walk in a county park, but really didn’t need it as it was completely deserted. I am hopeful that Stay At Home is working.

This triple pleat mask style is our new and improved version of the classic health care workhorse. We’ve spent days experimenting and perfecting the details and numerous improvements for a far superior fit and proper visual balance. The pleated detail is functional but it also harkens back to the pleat front denim jackets from the 40’s 50’s. The outer layer is a 9oz. Japanese woven 60% Wool 40% Cotton Blanket Lining fabric.

The Blanket lining fabric is fused with Black woven 100% Poly fusing or and extra layer of protection and structure. Chin box pleat detail eliminates gaping around the bottom and streamlines the on contact with the side face for a superior fit.

The Navy elastic straps are 3/8” finish with a red tuck stitch detail for extra comfort around the ear.

Aluminum wire is sewn into the top of the mask so that you can mold it to the bridge of your nose for a secure fit.

One small copper rivet on the wearers left side is our identifiable mark.

Runabout Goods Coverup Chambray today.

The coverup is a two-ply washable mask made to be worn over a N95 mask to extend its life. Simply place the coverup snugly over your N95 mask to wear.

Aluminum wire is sewn into the top of the mask so that you can mold it to the bridge of your nose for a secure fit.

I got this idea for this from a post I saw on facebook.

Basically, it's a sock with 4 layers of paper towel inside it. I like the idea of the extra layers the paper towel offers, even more so than a paper mask (that is not an N-95), or the bandanas I was wearing.

The toe cap and upper elastic are cut off. Then 2 cuts are made near each end, each cut about a third of the way in. These form the ear loops. If the cuts are made correctly, the heel of the sock is on the outside (not on top or bottom) and takes pressure off my nose.

I happened to have a bunch of worn-out bamboo cotton socks (which are very comfortable) ready to put into the rag bin, so I grabbed a few, and made a couple of these just now. I will make some more so I always have one handy, as whichever one I will wear for the day will be washed at the end of the day.

If it stretches out too much I can make new cuts, or just make new ones. I have plenty of old socks.

I'm all for getting back to normal as soon as possible, but I also think everyone should be wearing masks and gloves for a while, and practice better than usual hand and face hygiene.

Home made Malaysian "batik" cloth mask today. Had to ad an inch to the pattern length to cover from the bridge of the nose to under the chin. Using 2 pipe cleaners wrapped in plastic wrap for the nose piece. I have to fit the mask closer to the nose in order to prevent my glasses from fogging up.
