Wow LD, you've really dared to do the impossible with that jacket and the hat looks great!

Crwitt, I love it. I just finished this pattern up yesterday and I'm wearing it to work today! Hopefully I'll be able to get my pics up this weekend. :)

Tatum, it's funny, I also ignored this pattern for the longest time. I recently decided to give it shot when the McCall's Co. had their blowout sale on the full family of patterns. It's so flattering!

Thanks for the compliments, gals.
I was hesitant about it at first, thinking that it would be tricky to do any alterations, since this dress is a halter top with back and sleeves sort of pieced into it, but it fit me with no adjustments, and since I made it from fabric that has a little stretch,
I got away without a zipper. I'd like to see how yours came out, Jenniferose7.

I just made twelve 1920s repro dresses in 5 weeks....a MARATHON of sewing considering I'm also a full time student in a non theater major attempting to costume a fairly significant production. I thought I'd share some of the dresses.....

Past Patterns Vintage Revival

A VPLL pattern, not sure which one. Probably one of my favorite dresses from the show.

Another VPLL dress.

VPLL - Frock with Cape Collar (variation) . . . left off a flounce, the cape collar and sleeves, and added different sleeves.

VPLL Frock with Cape Collar . . . as given in pattern, made up almost exactly. I did add a back seam for ease of alteration later.

A bad picture, but it's a Past Patterns Vintage Revival pattern. LOVELY, simple dress. The drape is awesome.

VPLL Three Piece Ensemble - one of my favorite patterns. The skirt construction is just lovely.

Folkwear's Monte Claro dress.

Folkwear's Tango dress.

Terrible picture of the dress, but it's a Robe De Style made out of a layer of purple chiffon and then a layer of white chiffon underneath. Lovely, lovely dress, just a simple dropped waist bodice (I used the VPLL's Frock With Cape Collar pattern as a base) and then 3 widths of 45" chiffon for the skirt.

I LOVE your dresses, especially the pink cape collared dress and the brown dress with bow belt. I've been obsessed with 20's lately and it's nice to see these patterns on a real figure instead of the pattern drawing.

Jenniferose7, it came out lovely. I'd like to try it with sheer sleeves and back. Miss Elizabeth, what a busy person you are!
I like the second dress, and I'm surprised to see bust darts in a 20's dress. None of the 20's patterns I've seen have them,
and some of us "need" those!

Thanks, ladies! I did a bunch of research on here, especially for the guys costume, but yes, much too busy to post until now!

About half of the dresses I made from reprint patterns had bust darts. I haven't dealt much with original 20s dresses, so my experience really only comes from the patterns and different images. Gotta love a crash course in a decade! 40s and 50s I'm good with, but 20s was an unfamiliar era at first. I only wish I could take some of them home now and do pictures with my grandpa's car collection (restored Chevrolet '25 touring sedan, restored '25 Chevrolet one ton truck, '26 Chevrorlet coupe, '24 Chevorlet touring, '17 Cadillac coupe, '22 Chevrolet two door sedan. . . etc, etc. Those are just the 20s!). It was an amazing project but dang, glad to be done and move onto a new period next semester.

I made this in flannel. It is so comfy and will be nice for winter. I want to make a crocheted belt to go with this but I am having issues. I may just make a fabric belt.
