You gals have been making some great things!

I finally finished my repro 30's suit. It turned out real well and I even got to wear it to the QM even this past weekend.

Love this! And love the inset on the dress, too :)

Found a bed sheet in really good shape at the Goodwill today, and I love to re-purpose when I can so I made this. :)

Fantastic idea, and the cut is perfect for you.

Thanks :) I love to re-purpose, plus it was a queens size sheet for 5 dollars. That dress called for over 4 yards of fabric, and I still have lots left. I should post a picture of the kids pants I make from shirt sleeves. :)

Lauren, I love that dress! The print is great, but the details blow me away! The rick rack on the collar and the buttons... perfection!

blown away!

Shebear that dress looks awesome! Did you use a pattern for the dress?

Lauren what a great way to make ric rac look adult and chic! I have a love hate relationship with ric rac. I love to use it but I usually end up making things look too cutesy and child like with it. I am in awe of your mad skills lady!

This is the pattern I used, there is a sash on the dress, but you can't really tell from the picture.

Lauren, that is just beautiful! Great detail!

Crwritt, that's a cool site :) I don't really do one a day but I do get some sewing in most days.

I can hear the rush of feet out the door to find used sheets. Great idea..
That is a knack. I don't have that kind of brain. I have known several in my life that can look at same thing as me and find tons of ways to use and change.

Wish I had been there to see it in person!
Here's mine with the same pattern (the exact same one, sent to Lady Day!):

Just wanted to throw in a quick example of re-purposing. :)

This is an apron I made from a men's shirt.

This is a little girls out fit also from a men's shirt. The pants are the sleeves, and I used the back of the shirt for the top.

Oooh! I loved this dress so much I made it twice!! Yours is divine!

And so is everything else I see here. Makes me want to quit school and sew all night instead ;)
