alright, i love collecting patterns, fabric and would love to find more time to sew, but I finally did work up the EvaDress 3322 1940's overalls.

I had an older version of the pattern and I've found out in exchanging e-mail with Xandra that some of the problems with the side seams of the bodice not being the same length and the instructions missing some information (regarding the "details" section) have been fixed in a revision from January 2010.

All in all, this is a lovely pattern that fits great, once you get past the initial fitting! You definitely should make a muslin of the top portion as more than one of us has experienced some gaping in the center front. The only change I will make for my next pair is to have the straps button in front for ease of removal - back strap buttons are worthless if you don't have help in the ladies room!

Finally, my first post in this thread! I'm super excited about having finally finished this. It's Hollywood 1326 modified to more of a slim skirt shape and lined(!).

Inky those look adorable!!!
that back button issue was the first thing I thought when I saw that pattern. Overalls are on my to do list and I have that pattern but thought I might opt for the Decades of Style 30's Sweetheart Pattern but your overalls definitely make me go hmm.....

I don't use the back buttons at all. Putting them on the front would make getting dressed and undressed so much easier. Inky, you two look fantastic!

thank you so much ladies!!

Land-O-LakesGal, I just got that pattern from Decades of Style and am going to give them a go next week in some fine wale corduroy. I'm interested to see how they are compared to the 1940's pattern in fit.

Okay one of favourite homemade gowns, it was my wedding gown, and is not Golden Era, but I do love it.

I made everything that I am wearing except the stockings and shawl which were new and the veil which is an original antique one. I even made my under garments and shoes.

Inky, Land-O-Lakes and deadpandiva - I've used the Decades of Style 30s overalls and found them to be very nice. The pants fit great, but I did alter the bib a little. I added darts going from the armpit towards the bust to reduce gaping.

I'm part way through the Decades of Style pattern. I didn't make a muslin (doh!) and have found the bodice to be absolutely enormous and the waist a tad tight. I really hope you have better luck!
