Wedding Dress is coming together, there are a few things I have to fix (but if you can't see them, I won't tell you what they are! LOL) I just have to put in the back zipper, sew the hem and steam it. OH! and I am also going to make a petticoat for it, so it's going to be huge and fluffy and fan-1950's-tastic!

.....the picture is huge, sorry!!! :(

It's gorgeous! I can't wait to see pics when you've finished it. :)

Thanks ladies! I fixed "the problem" and adjusted a few other things, and it's looking a lot better. I added a few more details, I am now working on the hem, and I'm going to start on the petticoat tomorrow. I'm excited to see the finished product as well!

I just finished Simplicity 3688. The high waisted pants.
I used denim which it didn't list but I've been wanting high waisted jeans. They came together pretty easy except the waistband was a little wonky. Either user error or maybe because the pattern only had one size band for all sized pieces? Maybe because I used denim. I dunno, but I made it work..kinda.

But... I don't really like them. They just don't seem too flattering on me and make me seem bigger than I really am. I'll probably still wear them but I'm still on the look out for a flattering vintage-ish jean pattern. Any suggestions welcome of course. :)

I haven't been on here in way too long, so nice to meet you Christi! I think you are just too adorable in this pic and in this outfit! The jeans look great!

I luv the blouse!
I am not large chested but I do have a few blouses that seem to open up (I actually think they are made to do that...ugh!) but I fix it by taking velcro and using fabric glue, place it on the inside of the blouse, along the facing (so it doesn't show on the outside) and this keeps the 'gap' from 'gap-ing'!
You need to use the appropriate weight and width of velcro for your blouse..lighter for a blouse, heavier for flannel or denim.

Hi! Thank you so much. I'm actually liking them alot better now. And Land -o-Lakesgal you are too sweet. I try to look somewhat decent in my pics since the other 99% of the time around here it's mom central. :D

Honey Bee that's a great idea as well. Of course I'm hoping to get it just right next time so I don't have to use any of the big boobs in a little shirt tricks!

Very nice, well done, lovely fabric too!
Thank you! It was a 2 yard remnant of a quilt cotton I'd eyed before, and
a pack of quilt binding from the huge box of bias tapes left to me by my late
mother in law.

I finally finished my wing bust halter top. I designed it using PatternMaster and I wore it for the first time this weekend at the Red Hot and Blue Rockabilly Weekend in Montreal.

Sorry it's so fuzzy but it's the best pic that shows the shirt.

Thank you crwitt. Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about swing dancing. However, a very talented gentleman asked for a dance! He did all the leading and I just went along as best as I could. I really loved it! I wish they had lessons here.

I've got my sewing machine working, I've purchased a pattern:

And on sunday I bought some cheap (I'm assuming my first attempt won't go that well) fabric. I haven't sewn anything from a pattern in about 10 years and that was with my mother's help. Results weren't that great even then, but it's time I tried again. I've been searching for the perfect black capri pants to fit my long body for about 5 years now, so making them is the only option left.

Don't be surprised if I'm on here asking a ton of advice - I've never done a button hole before for example!
