Kamikat - I have some kind of unreasonable jumper love, and I love yours to bits! It's adorable!

The dress & bolero were great to see Hepkitty! I have a really similar pattern to yours and I always thought the illustration looked good, but I had concerns for it made up. No more concerns =)

Lady Day, holy cow, I looked though on your blog - honestly, from the cover (detail-y, a little too much for my taste, etc), I wouldn't have thought it would have looked so awesome on a real person! It's a total knock out. I cannot believe all the work with the flowers, and the back is a very cool pop.

My newly finished project is no where near as dramatic.

My mom wanted a new house dress. I think it wasn't quite what she asked for since it's a bit funkier than her style, but hey, I finally got the hang of bias tape. Tuning my machine has made a huge change, it's like a new machine! First completed project I don't want to start all over again.

Ooh! That's cute! Love the fabric! I think I was eying one very similar not long ago with apples and pears on it.

I just finished a swimsuit from a 1960 pattern. There's more info here.

Lady Day, you are as pretty as a picture. Love the gardenias!

Lauren, cute swimsuit! I have that same pattern. Did you use lycra material or cotton? I've been undecided about which one to use.

Thanks everyone! Wow, thanks tons!

Lauren, I adore those colors on you. The gold tones really make your skin glow. And the suit is super cute!

Lady Day - Stunning linen dress. I can see you on stage living up to your name!

Lauren - Love it! After reading your blog, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who skips the all official muslin step of sewing! lol I lay out the pattern, adjust the tissue, grab the shears and furtively glance over my shoulder for the Muslin Nazis. I tend towards the nip-tuck approach, as you so well put it.

That's a cute dress Amy Jeanne. I love the sleeves.
Grant Fan- Is that a vogue repro pattern. It look familiar and look great on you. I like the buttons also. I have them in blue.

Deadpandiva, you are spot on it is a vogue repro pattern. This is actually my second attempt at this dress, the first time was ridiculous and didn't read the directions and only looked at the pictures, needless to say I didn't do a good job. And when i went to see if I could get more fabric to just fix what I had messed up they didn't have any left :( so i had to throw it away and start over. But it wound up great because I found this wonderful rose print instead.

I'm posting a wadder mainly because I'm looking for opinions. I don't think it's a total waste because it looks good with the jacket, however, to my eye, it doesn't really look 30s. Was it poor fabric choice? The lack of OTT 30's design elements? The fact that I lengthened the jacket to a more flattering length for me?
