Hi Crwitt,
it's a vogue options one, 9668....I started it today and it's a pain already.....

Grump. PMT and sewing don't mix do they? I'm thinking of making the long halter in a mad cherry print too just for a 40s/50s music festival where it's always warm.

A tip with Vogue (only if you've been sewing for a while); i love vogue sooooo much, but IGNORE the directions. Put it together like you think you should, i never use the directions with vogue because they are written horribly and that pattern should be pretty simple to put together.
good luck :)

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
Kitty, I can't wait to see the finished dress. I have had my eye on that pattern but still haven't purchased it.
GrrlFriday- I really like the fabric you used.
SheBear74- that dress looks perfect on you. What pattern did you use?

Didnt put the bow so depending on the rest of my outfit I will add a pin or bow or .....

Was super easy by using my duct tape dress form and used news print to make pattern fit my own personal measurements are original pattern was 2 sizes too small.

Thank you everyone for your inspiration

Good work! Isn't it frustrating when all the cutest patterns stop just before they get to your size? Now that you know how to do this, you can wear any style you please.

I'm so happy to read everyone's comments about Vogue patterns. My daughters found an old vogue pattern that she wanted to make. So we found fabric, figured out how we were going to do it, made sure we had enough of everything, and then I started reading the directions.

Ladies, I couldn't even figure out how to CUT OUT THE PIECES! Sheesh! Before I started reading the directions, I even said, "Oh, this actually looks pretty straightforward!" Glad it's not just me. We might have to pull everything out again and give it another go. :eusa_doh:

Thanks for the compliments on the dress! It was pretty simple to put together, there is supposed to be a lining on it, but I didn't use a shear fabric so I left that part off. ;)

SheBear I have that pattern and I want to make the one in the photo on the left in blue, have some sheer fabric with red glitter to use on top, need to find fabric for the base now. nice job!

Now that sounds like it would be fabulous! Can't wait to see :)

I made this one up with a pattern that I saw posted on here (Simplicity 9621), by Goldwyn Girl. I tried to make it a couple times with different fabrics but just couldn't get it to look as good on me as it looked on her!!! lol This time I made it out of a fabric that would be for bathing suits so I can wear it to the beach as a cover up, I think it turned out ok. I added a flounce to the bottom just for a bit of fun.
