I do need to press the skirt, I was just so anxious to post it.

I finished this today. I thought it was going to be ugly, but it turned out ok. I'm not too happy with the green edging I put on the bolero sleeves, but I ran out of orange I'll fix it, though....

Detail of the fabric and the little orange flecks in it. The orange flecks really stand out with the orange bias tape. Especially in person.

This is a circle skirt, "Alice Lon" Crinoline, and "Whirling Turban Peggy Would" inspired top that I made. The event was a 50's Sock Hop at eXcuses eXtreme Cafe in Deep Ellum, Dallas.

And I'm in the background on the far right-- me and my two lovely friends were showing off our Strollin' skills This is only for a fullness illustration-- you can really see how full the 48-yard petticoat makes my skirt!

You ladies have made some amazing things.

I havent been sewing much, but I made two blouses from my Simplicity 3092 pattern. They are both rayon (the navy is a rayon/polly blend). They were rather time consuming, the fabric was a bit laborious to work with.

The shirt fits rather boxy, because there are no darts, and becaue of the back pleat. I dont think Ill make it again.

I also went back to using tailor's tacks. I cant for the life of me figure out why I stopped! :eusa_doh:

Wow, LD i like the colors and printing of both fabrics, they look like vintage, and I especially love the little bottoms, they really give the blouses that vintage feel.

I made this hat and put the border and bow applique on the viel. I need to move the bow over though as it's in a most distracting place right now. I am quite proud of this hat though. It came out almost exactly the way I envsioned it. It's taffeta over a buckram frame with cord trimming and beaded applique.

Yes, is the infamous simplycity 4559 and the fabric, is from a lot of fabrics that i got from my trip to China ( fabrics are ridiculously cheap)

Theresa LaQuey pattern, right? It is frustrating that her patterns go out of print - they are obviously in demand! I wonder if Simplicity will allow her to sell copies of her own masters? I will ask( her, not Simplicity, we are friends).

I love the way you can wear the bodice in different styles.

Yes, we are talking about the same one, and yes indeed, is a shame that this one got out of printing, I mean, in every single sewing forum, everybody loves this one and cant understand Simplicity decision of stop printing it.
Hopefully, they will realize their mistake and reprint it again

This one is inspired by our own lovely and talented Amy Jeanne. I love her use of wild fabrics! I'm calling this one a wearable muslin because there wasn't enough fabric on the bolt to make the cumerbund. It also needs a little more tweaking here and there. The pattern is a 12, so the grade up was rather difficult.
