The scalopped yokes and saddles, so popular in German tailoring, elements often associated with "Western style" in the US, are frequent features also of the alpine Trachten style. They were more common also in Anglo tailoring before WW1.
It has a certain playfulness and ornamental quality to it IMO.

The arches may also reflect a somewhat architectural take on tailoring.
Which reminds me of this 1930s German ad:
20200609_075329.jpg
Rough translation:
"The own home everyone needs at most!

I construct suits with wonderful facades for all gentlemen. My suits can look dignified like a court building, flirtatious like a pleasure palace or solid, durable and indestructible like the Chinese Wall. I am confident to satisfy every gentlemen with my clothes-architecture, which accomodates every need and possibility. I ask to honor me with your orders."

Great picture of a great outfit, Wayne!

Unusual (for me) is the combination
of stripes and checks on the suit & tie with the shirt;
but I find this arrangement quite exciting and inspiring.

Not to mention: the gray Homburg is a classic
with the dark blue pin/chalk stripe suit!

Some interesting tidbits from 1938 tailoring periodicals:

Who would't love such a showcase box for fashion pictures?

Popularizing the low buttoning 4x1 DB with long lapels, showing more of the shirt. The text recommends this type for taller men.

Also a glance across the ocean. Presentation of fashion "novelties" from the US ("Men's wear").

Actually, I should also post a few additions here,
but unfortunately time is always quite short at the moment.
Therefore, here is only a hat photo already posted this week,
but it shows at least the rudiments of my German 30s 3-piece
in grey herringbone with great peaked lapels:

Latest acquisition. Early 20s 3 piece in a chocolate with teal and burgundy stripes. I'm in love with the suiting, subtle peak lapels and the flat fronted waistcoat - plus fish tails rather than bunny ears DSC_1708-01-01.jpeg DSC_1686-01-01-01_edited-01.png DSC_1711-01.jpeg DSC_1709-01.jpeg DSC_1675-01-01.png
