They are not cheap, but mine was quite unremarkable. For some reason people get crazy money for custom westerns.

Apart from Inspector Clouseau,

You really only see that style of hat on fishermen.
But, to me it resembles the 1920's lady's cloche hats:

Well ... Dad was fishing on the float trip. I either had a similar hat or this one as I remember a photo of me at age 12 (the following year) wearing it. I think he wore it better.

I don't think I'm going down the cloche hat rabbit hole...
