I'm not so sure the real Elliot Ness wore hats regularly--it's harder to find a photo of Ness in a hat than it probably was to convict Alphonse Gabriel Capone.

I've only ever saw 5 photo of Ness three of which are indoors in his office. The other two is one of him escorting Capone, in which he is wearing a hat and I will post, which I will soon post and another of him in what looks like a courtyard next to a building.

Can't help you there, like most of my clothes and shoes, my own hats are bespoke which limits my hat knowledge. Prince William though, sports some classic hats.
