I have to admit, and I feel a bit uncomfortable about it right now, I use Barbasol and a triple edge balde. I always thought the so called "safety razors" cut up your face?

If you are new to using a double edge razor, you probably will cut yourself a few times. You will have blood free shaves with a little practice, a decent blade, and good lubricating soap/cream.

That's one of the myths that Gillette perpetuated when they abandon the DE for cartridge razors, when it really was all about $$$.
I remember them having a commercial where they referred to the DE as
"Old Ironsides" as in obsolete, funny how Old Ironsides and DE razors are still afloat while those 1st generation cartridge razors long since went to the landfills.
Since a DE's head doesn't pivot it's up to the user to control blade angle, this require a learning curve but also gives more control to the user.
