Inspiring! The hats still looks fresh and modern after what? a hundred years?

Thanks! It's probably from the mid to later 1950s. It's similar to the one Alan posted but in black. It was made for the American market under the Fritz Hückel Hutmacher trademark.

Mike at NW showed me a sharks gill with "dog ears"....a very interesting added feature to the bow. He shows it on his FB page. I am about to order a gilled bow......what is the mean number of gills ? 7 seems a goodly number...thoughts?

Thank you Gents! It definitely ticks all the boxes for me. The embossment on the sweatband reads "E. Shamir Haifa", and that's the only clue to it's origin so far; no labels behind the sweat.

Fellow lounger @stetsonofagun has (or had) three of them in a different color with their original Center Dent crease:

Fellow lounger @Historyteach24 had given it a Telescope crease to give it more of a "Pork Pie flavor", and I'm glad he did because I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to it otherwise when he listed it in the classifieds. I had to re-crease it to make room for my big head, and it suddenly fit like a glove.

"Before" on the left, "after" on the right. Because the crown is so low and tapered compared to my other hats my wife has taken to calling it my "tiny hat".

I saw two hats on Mike's Farcebook page with dogeared gills, and they both looked very much like the ribbon on the Barbisio Rimini that @mayserwegener shared in post #62 above.

When I was down there last week Mike said he now has this style of gills down to a science. The first one was fiddly, but he has done a few now and can put one together a lot quicker. The trick is keeping them uniform and straight. I'm really excited to see mine.
