that photo of the sun is amazing. feels like you're in a plane not far above it. and it looks furry !

Thanks! The tonality of the surface of the sun is inverted in this image which helps bring out the detail and also imparts that furry look. The lightest areas on the sun are the coolest - the dark areas are the hottest. The sunspot at lower left would be black in the original capture.

Inspired by a pattern I saw on a 1940s necktie.
