Congrats Alan!

A little inspiration for the artistic mind: Le mystère Picasso
Like a matador confronting a bull, the artist approaches his easel. As he wields his brush, the painting dances into being before our eyes. Pablo Picasso, the most influential artist of the 20th century, is making art, and famous French director Henri-Georges Clouzot (Diabolique, The Wages of Fear) is making a movie. This entirely new kind of art documentary captures the moment and the mystery of creativity; for the film, the master created 20 artworks, ranging from playful black-and-white sketches to widescreen color paintings. Using inks that bled through the paper, Picasso rapidly created fanciful drawings that Clouzot was able to film from the reverse side, capturing their creation in real time. When the artist decided to paint in oils, the filmmaker switched to color film and employed the magic of stop-motion animation. By contract, almost all of these paintings were destroyed when the film was completed. Unavailable for more than a decade, "The Mystery of Picasso" is exhilarating, mesmerizing, and unforgettable; it is simply one of the greatest documentaries on art ever made. The French government agrees; in 1984 it declared the film a national treasure.

I have started making some hand drawn adult coloring pages. Here is an example.

A piece I did to help inspire my niece through her cancer treatment.

Since she is a little surfer I did this one for the back of a fundraiser t-shirt for her. She got to keep the original piece.

She & I have been collaborating together. She does the clothing designs and I put them on a character I have come up with. For 13 she has an amazing raw artistic talent. He will be blowing peoples minds here in the near future with her creativity and art.

Cheers!

Thanks
Staying busy & finishing up on projects helps me to cope with things sometimes. :)

I know what you mean. I have taken to bringing my sketchbook to work to bring my stress levels way down. I get a half hour lunch and I sketch away. The two most recent were Professor Fate & Maximilian Mean. Will be adding to that page.
One page was random, Tom Hanks from Saving Private Ryan, Bill the Butcher Cutting & King Kong. They're not exact likenesses but as long as someone can say who it is, that is a good exercise for my hands. Makes the rest of the day easier.

Cheers!

I mostly paint oil landscapes because I’m not too good doing faces.
And the only one I made was a while back after watching a western movie .
I laid it on the table to dust it off. Apparently someone stepped on it
& left stains.

I can’t prove it but I have a pretty good idea.

It looks great Two Jake's. Paw prints and all. You paint faces a lot better than I do, and a lot better than you give yourself credit for.

2jakes, I see a lot of character in that face, maybe not as much as Polo has, but who does? I really like that piece and good to see your posts. Sorry for your loss.
