That is pretty faded J.S. My portrait is from '80 and I had to touch it up after it hung on my father's wall mostly in direct sunlight for about 25 years.

You might want to see if you can salvage yours before the memory fades completely away. In this age of disposability and email, our cohort will have precious little to remember us by.

You are right about that. I'd hate to think what would happen if a kid tried to have a senior picture like that made today.

When I was in school, EVERY boy carried a knife, and most had a gun in their car or truck. Several of us who drove school buses even carried a gun on the bus during deer season and hunted along our bus route. No one ever thought about using the gun or knife for anything other than hunting or work. But, that was a long time ago and so much has changed.

we miss out on this sorta stuff in the Uk which is very sad

things are changing now were the school leavers are getting a prom style dance at leaving but not in my day (i left high school in 1986) which is a pity because i wore a 3-piece suit most days to school and the photo would have had me with hair hahaha
