Seperating myth from reality: Nazi secret tech development projects

Not a secret tech thing, but in general interesting.

I don't know, which way the "high-pressure hotsteam propulsion" of the German Navy went, after WW II, but it seems to be true, that they indroduced that principe in a too early state. The problems were seemingly not fully solved, althought Bismarck Class seemingly ran excellent, when compared to the Admiral Hipper Class.

It was not possible to give Bismarck Class dieselmotors at the time, they were build. Such big dieselmotors were still in development and could simply not be ordered from MAN.
The H Class battleships would have been surely equipped with diesemotors, during peace time. But would Adolf Hitler have allowed to build more than the first two, which started hulks were broken up very early in wartime??

And in an alternative timelime, wouldn't the US Navy have send complete Iowa-Class to hunt the H-Class down?

FOUR Iowa Class battleships with top-notch FCR against totally outdated Diesel Dreadnoughts!!
