Sensory filter-weakness, an underrepresented topic in daily life?

In Europe/Germany, it seems an underrepresented topic, because, it doesn't exist as an medical-diagnosis itself, on WHO ICD-10-GM.

While this may appear more spread and active in this day because of internet and technology, this is something that has existed for many decades.... Perhaps it has always existed. Building a lack of sensitivity to certain stimuli in the environment is a trait of survival of the fittest.

Wars, Famine, Hunger in third world countries, slave / work camps, US slavery, women's rights etc etc... See what I mean?

No, just an observation of how the effect works. The principle is the same for just about anything. You get used to something, and eventually you don't even notice that it's there -- in which case its absence becomes more noticeable than its presence.

There was a cartoon, possibly in the New Yorker, of a man falling off a cliff. It was labeled "Man Falling Off Cliff." The man is plummeting downward, screaming in terror. The second frame was "Man Falling Off Cliff After Two Weeks." He is still plummeting downward but now he is sitting in a wing back chair reading a book and smoking a cigar.
