Schott 618HH size 42

Hello all. I am a Brand new member. I was lurking around this forum for a few weeks when shopping for a perfecto online. This forum seemed to be one of, if not the best source of info pertaining to schott jackets. I Initially ordered a 44, felt it was too
Big, and ordered the 42. Liked the 42 and returned the 44, but then rode in the 42 once or twice and realized it’s too uncomfortable. Tried sending it back for an exchange, no dice. My only option is to sell it at a loss and buy another 44. It is barely broken in, has some creasing starting in the sleeves and the back. It’s a 2020. They go now for 850, I’m asking 750.00. I’m at work so I’ll post pics later tonight. Or you can look at their website, because like I said, I’ve worn it about 5 times. It’s basically brand new.

Bartender edit: This thread had been pruned of political content. Please everyone be reminded of the house rules. Enjoy discussing the nice jacket, and keep contemporary politics out of it.

I’m wanting a bigger bike I can tour on. Entertaining the idea of an older boulevard C90. Classic looks and Japanese dependability.

Good choice in jackets by the way. The 618HH is very nice. Too bad it doesn't fit you as well as you hoped! I recently bought a 613H used from ebay in the same size 42. It's a truly wonderful jacket and I'm sure once you're happy with the fit you will enjoy it for years to come.

Great bike by the way! I love motorcycles from the heyday of motorcycling when they were in their most purest form. I used to own a 1975 Norton Commando 850 and I loved that bike and styling. I want to pick up another cafe racer at some point in my life, whether it's British or Japanese, but I have other priorities at the moment.

Good luck with your sale!

By the way, post a fit pic and maybe that could either help with your sale or maybe we could give advice on whether you even need to sell it or not. Schotts are definitely stiff as heck at first, but I already feel mine breaking in and becoming more and more comfortable.

The thing is the 44 was loose around the waist And I was worried the sleeves wouldn't close tight enough to keep air out. The 42 feels good and snug everywhere, but the armpit holes cut into my shoulders. I’m about 200 in these pics and have been trying to lose weight anyway as I weighed 170 just two years ago. I’m down to 191 this week but it’s still probably too tight.

I'm about your size. I weigh 192.5 lbs in this picture taken today and this is the 42 613H. I honestly think it fits you well enough in those pics, and if you are down to 191 lbs and plan to drop more then I'm almost positive the 44 will end up being too big for you once it breaks in.

That jacket looks good on you. Do you ride? The 44 being too big was my main worry with it. The waist wouldn't get tight enough to keep air out unless I went to the second to last belt hole, and I was worried the sleeves didn't close up tight enough. Not essential on the sleeves because you can use gauntlet style gloves, but like you mentioned, losing 10 lbs in that jacket would make it much too big everywhere. What I really need is a 43, which they don’t make. My chest measured 42.5 and my waist 34 in those pics. I have pretty thick lats and shoulders for my frame, so the problem is it fits great everywhere but the lower part of the armholes, which gets uncomfortable real quick when riding.

Thanks. I do ride, but I don't haha....Both of my bikes are in a different country that I currently live. I am selling my Ducati Streetfighter 848 and I am keeping my Triumph Tiger 800, but want to eventually ship it to where I live.

I have a 42" chest and 36" waist.

Some close up shots just now. I don’t like how the epaulettes bunch up like that when my arms are extended. Does anyone else’s epaulettes bunch up like that when moving your arms? I feel like that’s an indication that it’s too small.

Hey Ponyboy, that jacket looks like a great fit. I’ve had a couple Schotts and they get a little billowy at highway speeds if the fit is loose. Looks like it will break in.

Yea the epaulettes will do that for a bit, but I think they will settle down. Honestly, that fit is about as good as it gets. I would keep it and keep breaking it in.
