This looks like a truck of a jacket and the leather looks a lot like Vansons comp-weight-stuff. Has it ever been confirmed it's Langlitz who makes these?
I still have scant information, and due to the fact that I don't speak or read Japanese, and machine translation is still poor, I haven't been able to find out much.

Currently it my understanding that Scarecrow is/was the name of a store in Japan, and they apparently sold Langlitz jackets that had the srote label in them along with the Langlitz label. There's no explanation of the Yah-Ta-Hey labeled jackets that they also sold that I've been able to find. Some have speculated they could have been made by Langlitz. I am skeptical about that, but it remains a possibility. I think an inquiry to Langlitz is in order to settle the matter.

There has to be a Lounge member who is fluent in Japanese who could step in and offer better translation of what little information I've been able to scrape off the web on this mystery.

The machine translation on the auction I grabbed those pics from is tantalizing:

For the first time put the famous shop the rungs Ritz in Japan
Sukeakerou original brand, of Yatahei
is Shingururaidasu.

Anyway I ordered looking for a thick Riders
got to wait half a year.

Surface, of course, leather windbreak part that hit the zip also
anyway thick.

Leather paste also in the both sides of the zip
in the pocket frontage also leather
interior come to Koshiura also attached to the leather
is the riders with anyway insistence.

The purchase price is I think I did not 300,000 but
is built to surpass the specifications of Lang Ritz.
※ USA-made

size is the size of the per 36-38.

Is still leather has remained core, because originally also of thickness really Gotsu, those looking for easy movement lightly leather should withhold.

Bold text added for emphasis. "built to surpass the specifications of Lang Ritz" (lol, WHY does the machine translation do the R->L thing?) sure sounds like it's not a Langlitz with a different label. My assumption is that the "specifications" in question that are being surpassed are the weight of the leather.

"put the famous shop the rungs Ritz in Japan" is especially poorly translated by google, but I think it seems to be saying that it's from the same shop that sells "rungs Ritz" (another Langlitz butchering?) in Japan... which would seem to describe what I've been able to glean about Scarecrow.

So, the theory I favor now, that Scarecrow is a shop that carried Langlitz in Japan, possibly the first Japanese merchant to do so, put their labels on Langlitz gear, and as well has had some relationship with this mysterious Yah-Ta-Hey maker, about which I still know almost nothing.

"Is still leather has remained core, because originally also of thickness really Gotsu, those looking for easy movement lightly leather should withhold." Seems to be warning the buyer that this is some super heavy stuff, and not easy to move around in. I don't know what Gotsu means -- I would have guessed "goat" but I can't imagine that goat leather of this weight is even possible. I don't see it mentioned in the auction description anywhere, but strongly suspect that this is either super heavy steer or horse leather.

Here's an A-2 style jacket that has a Yah-Ta-Hey label in it:

That is in no way a bad thing! Although, point taken, a Natal/Natel/Walter Dyer can be found for about 1/5th to 1/10th the cost of what I'm seeing these listed at.

Bad thing? It can only be a good thing! Best damn jacket I ever had so it's a huge plus it resembles it. Gotta get another one.

To me, the best part of these jackets is the scarecrow label mascot, who looks like he fell off a 70’s era black light stoner poster.

I just wanted to provide some information on ScareCrow. The store specialized in American Made products. I started making jackets for them around 2005 until 2016. We made about ten different styles for this company over the years. One of the photos in shown on the first page is a jacket style I made for them. I have not heard from the company since 2016 and not sure if they are still around. They had some very cool styles that we made for them.

I still make garments for three very well known company's in Japan. proxy[1].jpg proxy[2].jpg proxy[3].jpg

Very interesting, Alan, and thank you for the information!

Do you have any knowledge about the tagging? Was Yah-Ta-Hey a label that Scarecrow invented? Did you put that label on them, or did Scarecrow? Did all of the Yah-Ta-Hey labeled jackets come from you, or did they use a variety of makers in the USA?

The label was provided to me by ScareCrow we did make many jackets for them but I believe they used other manufactures as well.

Hi Tony,

Yes that was my jacket as well.
I knew it. Man I wish the one I picked up had fit better. I had sworn myself to just three leather jackets but now I think I might have to extend that figure. You and your wares have been on my mind as of late and that worn out west m/c jacket was so damn nice. We might need to talk soon. Hope all is well with you in the new year!
