I think hats are definitely back but it will probably be another year or 2 before you see " the average Joe" taking to the style. The people the photog captures in his blog are super fashion forward and have a superb sense of personal style so we'll see how it goes. The best way to see if they are back is to check out runway since fashion trickles up from the street to runway to consumers. I love the way hats look on men so hopefully it will take on soon.
I definitely see fedora-style hats coming back in my area. I've started taking a running tally of all the hats I see during the day. I average one or two, but I saw six or seven yesterday. Good day.
Perhaps the baseball cap, which still have a very strong influence on the every day guy. But I think there is going to be more of an emergence of fedora's in modern style and oh happy day when they come back because baseball caps remind me of Beaver Cleaver or Forrest Gump.
I mean, I've only been into hats and such for a few years; but I think I've seen a dozen of these articles from past and present. With no visible increase in people wearing hats.
The most recent time I saw a person other than myself wearing a fedora was a few months ago, February or January, I was in a resturant and he walked in and we complimented each others attire. I hope the hat comes back into style, it works so well with the whole 'reverting to the past' trend, first the eighties, then the sixties and seventies and soon the fifties, fourties and thirties, I hope.
I have a collection of fedoras and other hats that I sport around when possible, and it always amazes me that most people think you have on a costume or something. It really makes you feel "completely dressed" when you wear a nice hat!
