Will take the time once again to say: AmJack or Guido wear!

Which consists of a striped shirt, untucked of course, acid washed denim jeans, clunky black shoes with a rubber/plastic sole and a real bad haircut and style gel job resembling bed head.

Well... I don't really try hard to get a "bedhead," it just happens since I've grown out my hair. lol

I agree though, that looks is getting really annoying. I see it downtown here (University of Florida) all the time, especially on weekend nights.

I, too, see this look all the time, since I spend a lot of my time around other college students. I don't understand why they seem to think this look is good. When you put your glad rags on for a Saturday evening out, why would you want to look like that? And why do the girls like that? It doesn't strike me as a look that anyone really looks good in, but clearly I'm missing out on something here.

Surprisingly we see that look quite a lot in our offices. Our bank is failry conservative so I am not certain why anyone would choose that hair style, or some of the clothing they wear. Not infrequently, we have to give warnings on the dress code.

I wonder if the heavy use of hair products necessary to maintain such a slovenly look contributes to the amount of baldness we see. Back home I don't remember seeing so many bald or balding men. Fortunately the last two comb-overs have now shaved their heads.

Someone on the internet scammed a hair product company by saying it made him lose "clumps of hair." All they did was refund his money, but he ended up getting free shampoo, basically. :eusa_clap

While I respect the freedom of personal choice in what one chooses to wear in public, I wish to present a sample of my satrorial pet-peeves...

1. Giveaway/incentive t-shirts and coats: jackets that say "ABC Manufacturing Co."
2. Baseball caps worn with the brim centered somewhere between the nose and ear. Bonus points if the tags or holographic sticker are still attached!
3. Clothing worn by men several sizes too large.
4. Tennis shoes worn by women who are otherwise dressed in business attire. With all the types of footwear out there, there has to be a comfortable flat heeled shoe made by companies other than New Balance, Nike, or Reebok.
5. Shorts worn by either sex in the dead of winter (in those states in the northern US). Truly, it can't be that comfortable.
6. Overweight men who wear their trouser's waistline below their gut.
7. The incongruity of a well-dressed woman and a slopply-dressed man.

My Fraternity will be celebrating Founder's Day in just over a month, the Alumni Association printed, "formal," on the invites, can't wait to see how dreadfully that word is twisted by 18-24 year old boys. Their dates will be in floor length dresses, but the boys? ugh, Who knows. Can formal slacks have pockets on the outside and loops for a hammer??:rolleyes:

They don't want to risk dressing up and getting it wrong. Whatever is on the closet floor will do, no one can fault him for trying and missing since he didn't try. I hate the slob look. For me, it is just as easy to put on a black shirt and comb my hair and know I look nice.

for me

For me, it's the "curvy" sized women wearing extremely low waisted jeans and tops that are above their belly buttons. Being a "curvy" woman myself, it makes me feel bad for them.

I see these things every day, and every day it annoys me. Not enough to go yell at the person, but at some times it gets there.

Guys
- Pants worn below mid-thigh (resulting in the penguin walk)
- Baseball caps worn at an awkward angle, flat brim, all tags and stickers stil attached. What, are you still unsure about your purchase?
- Wearing a hoodie, but only around the neck, leaving the arms to dang about. Either wear it or don't, there's no inbetween.
- Pants and shirts that were purchased with holes already in them, for $100 a pair or $50 per shirt. I have a gold mine in the back of my closet.
- Boxers worn above the pant's waistline. Double points if it's white and has skid marks. I don't think they look tough, they look like they can't dress themselves.
-Flip flops. Contributes to the terrible smell in school when it gets hot.

Girls
- Hip hugger, low rise jeans, double points if it's on one of the more plump girls who look like they're wearing a size or two too small.
- Plump girls who wear tighter clothing so ti constricts on some areas, leaving skin and fat to burst between the shirt and waistline and around the sleeves of a t-shirt. Modern corseting?
- White tail. No matter who does it, it's not hot or sexy, it just makes me want to wedgie the chick.
- Flip flops, also contributes to the terrible smell in school when it gets hot.

I just came back from two weeks in a place where I had relief from "sartorial objections". I was in Japan, a country where the majority (at least in Tokyo and Osaka) dress better than we do here (here being the U.S.). I've been to Japan 10 times and while it's certainly true that you will see some extremely "creative" clothing choices (gothic Lolitas,gangu gals,and really odd attempts at hip hop wear)most adults are very smartly dressed. When riding the trains or buses at any time of day or night it's not unusual to see ladies in beautiful dresses and men with well tailored suits. The train personel wear sharp uniforms with white gloves and the cleaning crews also have uniforms on. Even when casually dressed there is evidence of a real care in appearance that I seldom see here. Of course I live in Northern California, a place known for an attitude of disdain for those who show any signs of having put more than 10 seconds of though into getting dressed. Excuse the lengthy rant,I'm still getting over the jet lag...:eek:
