Great hats everyone! Having never owned a roll-up, does the felt become weak along the top of the crown? We all know that handling a hat by the pinch weakens the felt, but what about folding it in half a lot? And wouldn't the sweat and ribbon become terribly wrinkled and deformed over time?

Never had a problem with mine. But I also have only rolled it a handful of times...

My Lee has incredibly light weight felt and based on the condition of the hat when I received it, I would doubt it was rolled and unrolled more than once. I have rolled it up and un-rolled it myself, about 30 times already and I can feel no weakening of the felt. The Adam and Ruffie that Bolt has, including my Lee, all have the line going down the crown and some of the brim. I believe this line was pressed into the hat when it was originally blocked so I would imaging that the felt has been "packed down" in that area. The denser felt going down the line, may be one of the reasons that the hat does not tear from folding and unfolding. The line is there for the hat to fold in on itself and I think therefore would stop any tears, because it always folds down the line where the felt is the most thick and dense. At least that's what I have observed.

Josh, bolt, aureliano: nice lids all! the Borso seems the least obvious in terms of it's rollability. In fact, I can't tell without seeing the box! josh, that Lee is one unusual hat. A clear plastic tube way back then?!

I still don't have a travel hat, so if anyone spots a 7 1/2, do tell! :)

It IS deceiving, indeed! In the pictures the felt looks much more dense than it already is. When I got it it had a serious bad crease splitting the hat in the middle, like Bolt's hats except this one was made from rolling it. It took a good block to get rid of it.
