What was the reason?
The belt cinch in the back and the little fluted bits in the front are too much for me to take. I could handle one but not both. I like vintage style for sure but that's taking it to costumey levels in my opinion. I like the plainness of the type 3 and 101J styles. Simple and plenty classic enough.
Here's a jacket I'm looking at for the warmer weather in the UK(!!)
Old denim jacket style, but in a canvas that goes well with jeans and avoids the denim+denim look.
Craftsman made in Pasadena, CA., so no silly Japanese telephone number pricing.
I like this one. What do they charge for it? Is it made of duck? And do they make it in real man sizes like 35?
Pit to pit 19" is getting a bit big for me in this kind of jacket (not kidding). 17.5"-18" is about as big as I can go. This is why I love the Japanese repros so much - they're made for people my size!!
It looks like this one, lovely though it is, might be cut a bit long too. Looks to be at the level of the "waist"band of a modern pair of jeans, rather than a proper waist-length jacket.
A wonderful design, though!
I like the Levis jacket, great colors and material, but it is simply too long for me.
I wish Aero could make jackets in fabric, I would love a 30´s halfbelt in waxcotton (have asked them to and gotten no)
Awesome jacket. It's a linen/cotton mix.
I thought the Levi's Type II jacket was introduced in 1953, not 62. Are you sure? The repro is listed online as 1953.

Here is THE classic Cowboy Jacket that beats ALL others - the Lee 101J - with NO side pockets:
For 40 years they made it without side pockets, and then they ruined a classic by adding them!
