Req: Essential 30s-40s Dress Shirt Pics

Zach,

If you do get them to do this for ya, the dimensions are the really important part. The 70s did some pretty good repro of this style shirt collar, but the thing they got consistently wrong was the dimensions. The collars were always so damn HUGE. The 30s/40s shirts i've come across have (can't think of a good word) slim-line collars.

I'm preparing a template that i'll post here. This will obviously have the measurements from one of my shirts on it. I hope others will take it and post the measurements from their shirt collars. I suspect there will be a simple arithmetical relationship between collar size and collar dimensions ...

Hope this helps, Zach:

From the Japanese 30's-style website:

Okay, here's my template. The numbers are for a size 15 neck from a mid 30s Arrow attached-collar dress shirt. I'll be able to post another by the end of the week with size 14.5 collar (in the mail). Anyone with larger neck sizes - Marc, i'm looking at you -, please help Zach out by taking this image and adding your measurements ... Equally you could just list the measurements A-D in a post ...

Zach, are you also interested in non long-pointy collars fro this era? If so, just take a modern collar and reduce the dimensions.
