The only store that carries them in Australia only orders the A-2 and G-1 models. Pretty meh on both those models honestly, but the 44 A-2 fit me well, probably better now I've lost a bit of weight. Hope I get the chance to try on a Hercules in Japan. Also would like a Ponyboy, but don't think any carries that in stock. Even in their domestic market, not many places have a full run to try on lol
You’d need a 44 for sure. The thing is the hem will also be 44 like on your McCoy. But RC has a waist tuck so it might fit better, you’d really have to check it out in person.
I think the Toys McCoy Mobster will fit you better with bigger chest and more V taper at the waist. If you can find one try that. The RC Highwayman sort of in the middle of those two, not as V as the Toys Mobster but more V than the Herc. Its gonna get busy there soon with the cherry blossom crowd.

The Herc from measurements is about inch or two smaller in shoulders and chest which I think will be better for me. I hope the hem isn't as flared but I will have to try it on to see. I think patterns with more V taper fit me better, even though my body is not very V shaped lol

I heard the Mobster jacket was originally designed for RMC by the Freewheelers director, who since left and I guess adapted it with some Trojan details into the Mulholland, I've never seen any vintage Trojan straight-zip in the Mulholland style.

I catch the tail end of cherry blossom season so hopefully it's died down by then, and also anyone visiting for cherry blossom season, please don't snag the Herc from Barnstormer lol!

The RC Herc seems to gain some popularity again this past delivery. There is still a 44 by that store by the Fuji mountain I will not say the name hopefully it's still there when you get there. It has the special houndstooth lining versus the basic woolie one I've got. It has a really nice slim fit, you've gotta try it on to see.

I've been looking at a Johnny jacket aka the other Mulhollands aka the CHP aka the Mobster for a while now. There has been so many iterations from slim long to short rectangular to V shaped. I have also seen the Trojan reference, one of those "phantom jackets" like the phantom AN J 3. Never seen anything bigger than a 40 on the used market though. That blows. People seem to hang onto their older ones in this style more. Patience is the game...

Just got sold out, they got their delivery a few days ago. Thought I would be able to get it considering they had another one sitting around for months in same size, although that was a stock model and not their special order with the houndstooth lining...

The numbers posted on Barnstornmer may not be correct ( they’re big shop so many new jackets probably simple admin mistake). I have this jacket in this size and P2P is 55cm, 56cm stretched. Also Barnstormer start charging size tax at 42, usually it starts at 44

I have bought from both Barnstormer and Mushman. On this particular one I’d think Mushman is probably the better choice for pre order. Barnstormer is only really good when the jacket is actually in stock.

This RC pattern is slim long with curve in middle but no big taper. Also not direct repro, but is still damn nice. There’s a Goodwear one with all the repro bits including labels and inside rain collar.

Sad day.. took my Pony Boy out of storage, went to zip it up and the zipper got completely stuck about halfway up. Mushmans says it's completely shot and broke due to the way I zipped it up. Anyone know the best place to get this replaced?

I think you can fix it. Lube it up and try to get the zipper pull back down to the weird spot. Or you could pull off the slider and put it back on once the jacket is undone.

What HM said. Go extra slow, one teeth at a time. And you can slowly push the teeth through the pull all the way down.

Make sure you don't use force, otherwise the cotton tape will fray and there is no coming back after that. Grab the teeth at the tape and push, not pull down the tab.

Johnson can do the zip replacement, but I don't know if they still repair other brands jackets that are not theirs. Also they use YKK or Riri so you'd have to get a NOS zip from Photo or if my Waldes Crown zipper sample works out I can send you one.

I've done zipper replacement here locally in Vancouver and it was more expensive than I expected. I actually sent a Finecreek jacket back to Japan for some cosmetic surgery. If it works out I will post it here. There are also specialized repair shops in Japan like this one, but I haven't used it yet. 8000 to 18000 yen isn't bad if Waldes zipper is included, $130 max plus shipping both ways though.

I really don't recommand the sunrise Talons, NOS or Waldes. They never worked for me.

How does that even happen? I’ve never seen a zipper do that before. It’s messed up at two different places in that pic.

I literally have no clue. I put it on and went to zip it up and it just got stuck halfway up. Literally had to have my wife help pull it off of me.

Well unless they’re shipping it to the Moon I don’t think EMS on a folded jacket should be that much, wonder what’s about.
Was an odd email response for sure. I'm going to try and get it unstuck but if not probably will bite the bullet and send back to RC. Unless these zippers are just substandard and I'd be better off with something else

Welp, I could not fix it on my own. Some of the teeth were crooked, so I sent it off to Johnson Leathers per your recommendation. They have no idea how it happened but are doing the replacement with a YKK #7. Thanks for the help
