Rain and the Fedora

I recently purchase a nice fur felt fedora and plan on taking it with me to Vancouver. I am concerned about the rain and how well the hat will stand up. The store said the felt has a natural water resistance to it, but did not know of a spray / application that would not leave a residue or change the softness of the felt. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Whether it should or not is another story. But if you want to be on the safe side of things try and hunt down a can of Scout Felt Rain protector. Scout makes a great line of products I am sure you can find them if you google it.
