I just bought a house, constructed c. 1904, with a garage that’s only a few years newer (and huge, the original owners must have driven Packards or Locomobiles or something). I’m thinking about adding some exterior lighting to the garage for security and utility purposes.
To that end, I’m going to take back some old radial-wave shades on goosenecks that I once gave to my dad for a project that never materialized.
Example
I’m wondering, though, how long that design has been around. To me they typify a ‘30s or ‘40s gas station (though mine came from a summer camp that has been around since 1925).
It won’t really influence my decision one way or another, as I think they’ll look great on my old garage, but I’m still curious.
