Preserving Vintage Leather jacket

What is the best method to preserve a vintage leather jacket to keep it soft
and not alter the light brown color or patina...or should I just leave it alone ?

I think leather conditioners such as Pecard will do the job.

Over longer period of time, the way you store the jacket will also affect the longevity of the jacket... I think the recommendation is to lay it flat, & not hang it (on a hanger) for an extended period.

Furthermore, I've been told with vintage jackets you will need to (gently) wear the jackets from time to time to keep them "in shape."

I too, have had good results with Pecard. More importantly, most of the oldtimers on this board would use nothing else.
