I thought you would find that story. That shark is quite unique---to say the least. The teeth are really strange looking.
The ocean is one arena where we have no idea what might still exist. At that depth, there could be many prehistoric aquatic species. Remember the Coelacanth? http://www.dinofish.com/

You would have to ask the natives---in the coelacanth case. I understand they eat them. [huh]
I have no idea if they eat those sharks in that area though. Looking at it, probably tastes like eel.
