I uploaded media (photos) on my media on FL but it looks like some sort of public media thing as I can see some other members photos. When I go to my media, it shows my photos on this list with other members. I had to wait to get the pics approved by the mods. Looks like now, in order for people to see my pics, they need to log in. Other threads don't seem to have this log in to be able to see issue. What do I need to do?

Hello All - could use some help. I am loading my pics on to My Media. Says my pic needs to be approved by site directors/mods? It looks like I am uploading properly from my computer files but no one cam see pics i post on threads. Do I need to make my pics public somehow?

Could someone simply go through the process of adding a pic, jot it down for me? At this point, I am dead in the waterer in re posting pics.

I generally downsize to ~ 985 x 577 pixels, which I just did for @bluesforchallah fantastic looking Honda ride, before clicking on "Upload a File" and then click on the "Thumbnail" option. I wish all forums were as easy to post images as TFL! As mentally challanged as I am with computer stuff, anyone can figure this out if I can. Unfortunately I have to use my desktop as I haven't figured out how to downsize my iPhone pictures in order to upload directly from my iPhone.

On the iPhone I use a free app (or paid for no adds version) called tapatalk.

To add pics it’s as easy as hitting the + button

Then select the photo icon to open your photo library

Pick the photo you want to upload. Then select the size you want to upload it as.

Hit reply and it’s all done.

Much easier than uploading to your PC especially if you take the pics in your phone in the first place...

so, can I make these smaller on my computer? - I can't seem to do that, must be an easy way. Now, I can't even upload, says my files are too big. I am having no problem over at vintageleatherjackets.org doing the same process with the same pics.

If the picture is too large, the upload won't work. I use Microsoft Office 2010 on my desktop. First of all I copy and paste my picture(s) on my Desktop and right click on the picture, then click on Microsoft Office 2010. Then I click on Edit Pictures and click on Resize and reduce from 100% to 40%.

Since I took the above picture on my iPhone, I had to downsize it on my desktop from 2448 x 3264 pixels to 979 x 1306 pixels so that the picture would upload! Then click OK, X out, and Save the new and improved size. Anyhow, this is how I do it. Below is a URL on downsizing that might or not be helpful. The important thing is the picture must be downsized, at least from my iPhone transfer.

Thanks Fanch - I will look into this and I appreciate it however, this is ridiculous, there has GOT to be an easy way to do this!!! its getting to not be worth the trouble. I have a few jackets to sell and think they could sell on FL. Otherwise, at this point, I would not bother! But again, THANKS!!!!

One nice feature of simply using the "Upload a File" format here is the pictures will not ever disappear. When Photobucket decided to no longer allow us to post pictures on forums without paying their exorbitant fee, thousands of pictures now not only on the Lounge are not visible but also on a number of other forums as well.

If Photobucket can do what they did, any web based company can follow suit. Now that I have gotten used to uploading directly from my desktop, it's just not a big deal. Maybe someday Apple will have a format for downsizing pictures without having to go through an app such as Tapatalk.

Try this, by the way, I'm a total ignoramus at anything to do with computers, but I did somehow work this out:
If the image that you want to upload proves to be too large, (file too big) go back to the picture as it was as a thumbnail, rightclick on it, in the menu that pops up, click edit. You will now see how large the picture is. In the top left corner of your screen you should see a box that reads, "Resize." Look for the box with the number 100 in it, delete it and replace it with 50. When you remove the image from the screen a further pop up will ask you if you want to save it. Click yes. You have now halved your file size.

Now that's a nice late 70's Honda 400 Four ! Pity about the K&N pod filters , a K&N stock airbox replacement would have been the way to go !

All this other "resizing" stuff , too hard for me buddies !

When choosing upload media, the images go to limbo until a mod can approve them. It's a spam catching feature for us but the images are always just fine. It just creates a delay.
