I like the midbrown, Spats. It's a good color for that hat. I might have to get one for myself. The price is sure right these days.

Thats a sharp VS Bart. Is the binding a green shade or brown? My monitor is lying I think. And the ribbon is very nice as a contrast.

Nice Akubra, Brinybay. Looks good on you. Spats McGee, I really like the Stylemaster. I think I like them better than the Fed IVs. Nice brown.

Thanks, Its hard to nail down some of these complex colors, but it is kinda a pewter grey with just the slightest hint of green in it. Can't really do it justice in a photo.

Wow - everybody has such great hats! I just posted pics of a couple of my hubby's on the "Diamond Authority" thread, I thought I'd post more here. Hubby loves old hats (and ties, argyle socks, suspenders, and, and, and). We were able to pick up some real nice hats for $10 each (with hatboxes) at an estate sale recently.

Beaver Resistol:

This one has its original sales reciept:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0256.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0256.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

A very nice Knox:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0277.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0277.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And a green furry one my hubby just had to have:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0258.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0258.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

It's fun, it's funky - and yes, it's covered in green teddy-bear fur. It was purchased at the same estate sale as the previous two, and this is the only label we saw on it:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0266.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0266.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The text over the crest reads "by Appointment", and under the crest "Internationally Famed". Sound familliar to anyone?

My final submission (for now) is hubby's panama hat:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0278.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0278.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And it's maker:

<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/?action=view&current=IMG_0281.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/mixercollector/IMG_0281.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I cheated a little - only the first three hats are new to him. The panama he has had for a while...but I figured since I'm new here it would still fit [huh]

I'm still working on hubby to get him to stop by here sometime. I keep telling him he would fit right in.....

Cheers!

While I was at Buckaroo Hatters I was tempted to take off with one of Mikes vintage fedoras.
A Wormser with the sweetest, unique diamond crease I have ever seen.
Mike added a DC-3 pin to give it a little more sass!

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here, but, is that an example of the famed Cav Edge on this Knox posted by Mixmaster?

I dunno, Rusty, it looks a little big on you. Nice tie though.

You might regret not buying it later.[huh] Wormser made great quality hats.

GS, this hat was not for sale. It is one of Mikes personal hats that he has placed in his custom hat shop. But you are right, the Wormser is one sweet fedora!!!
