Final one of the year.
Borsalino fedora in grey. Colour is called plumbeo, which is a colour we don't see too often. Size 56 with the brim at 5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Neat hat at 110 grams, but it too runs small, so not a keeper.

It's about time for a 2023 wrap up, but we have a thread for that as well I believe.

A very clean design on this one, Stefan, although I do like the plumb colored felt you just posted also. I wish our current felt manufacturers would give us more of these color shade varieties.
Last few hats of the year. Let's start off with this interesting one.
Cambiaghi woolfelt in a colour that's all over the place depending on the lighting. Brown, grey or (heaven forbid) green? Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5,8 cm and the crown at 9cm. Crown is creased in between a porkpie and a telescope. More a wider brimmed porkpie. It has a very nice sharkgill bow and the hat as a whole works. At 120 grams not bad for a woolfelt. Has a nicely detailed liner as well.

Thanks, Randy. Borsalino was of course most prolific of all manufacturers with their colours. The Plumbeo has some more blue tones to it than the pictures here show.

Finally got to open the Hornskov up. Very happy with it. I love the black cherry colour. The midnight blue ribbon and wind trolley look almost black in the room’s light. As tall a crown as I own. More pictures of the details coming in the next few days, but for now, I’ve got a chook on the barbecue and this is definitely not my barbecue hat.

Very nice, I love the color. Is it a custom or one of the models on the website?

An excellent hat, Gary. The Black Cherry seems to always make an excellent hat.

Just what I didn't want to see. Another great Hornskov hat to confuse me even more about which one to buy :)

Congrats, Gary. It's a beauty. Love the colour!

1950's Collins & Fairbanks. 2 3/4 inch Cavanagh Edge brim, 5 3/4 inch open crown. This hat was made by Lee Hat Co. Just guessing, I'd estimate this about a Twenty or $20 hat.

Nice find, Mike. What makes you think it's a Lee?

The sweatband looks like it could be older than 1950's.
It has a Lee mfg tag from the 1950's in it, same as my Lee Forty. I think it's the last version of a tag that Lee had before they closed in 1960. Collins & Fairbanks were known to get hats from Lee, as well as Disney and other makers (not that Disney was an actual maker).

This one is nowhere near as nice as Jonathan’s C & K, but is interesting. It was part of that local auction pile and came in a newer Dobbs box.

Crofut & White derby.

Removing the massive amount of paper padding revealed the labels.

I think this is a used hat price of $1.25 written on the sweat. No other markings that I can see.

Sold in France originally?

In 1860 the old firm of Crofut, Bates & Wildman being dissolved, the business was conducted by Henry Crofut. From that time to the present there have been four different partners besides Mr. Crofut. First Rollo Nichols was admitted, under the firm name of H. Crofut & Co.; then George K. Nichols, and
afterward Joseph H. White, the firm still retaining the old name. In 1878 the firm was Crofut, White & Peabody. The present firm is Crofut & White. — “History of Danbury Connecticut- 1684-1896”
Unfortunate that time wasn't kinder to that hat, Bob, but the color and venting features still make it extremely interesting nonetheless.
