Victor Custom Hatters of Dallas. Fantastic felt! It’s very thin and a cross between vintage 3X and Royal DeLuxe felt…leaning more to Royal DeLuxe. The bound brim is 3” wide and the open crown is 5 ⅝” tall. It’s an eggshell white…not quite sugar, but close. Fantastic hat that is easily shaped dry.

I'll save some of those pictures to take the next time I go to Bryan. Last time I was in Catalina all they had were various straws, heavier-than-heck western weight felt bodies, and a floor sales staff of twentysomething's who didn't know the difference between a fedora and a forklift. No offense to Catalina, I'm sure their milliner's are quite good, but they certainly didn't show off their capabilities based on what was in the front of the store.

Catalena Hatters take on the Open Road style hat. 2 ¾” wide brim and 5 ¾” open crown. Great moldable felt, but there is quite a bit of soiling and a weak spot at the point of the crown at the crease/pinches.

You're on a roll with all these great "new" hats, Brent. Great finds one and all.

Quite the haul this week, Brent. It's like a beauty contest with one pretty hat after another.

One of a two hat deal. A nice old woolfelt survivor.
Eichenberger homburg in black. Size 57 with the bound brim at 6cm and the substantial crown at 11.5cm at the center dent. Weighs 165 grams, so as expected from a woolfelt on the heavier side. Well made hat, but very soft. It used to have a liner, but that is gone. The label doesn't ring a bell, but it suggests that it is actually either a French or Swiss made hat.

The second hat of the two hat deal and the one I really went for.
Sools by Mossant or Mossant for Sools (take your pick). Fedora in blue (Bleu Oxfort according to the label - the French didn't bother to check the spelling of Oxford obviously). I have another Mossant in this colour which is very attractive. Size 56 with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Superb felt with a great hand. Not exactly lightweight at 115 grams, but certainly not a heavy felt either.
