Hi Brent. Ordered it through Etsy. I came across them whilst searching for second hand stuff. I chose the specs as shown on the site so I knew what to expect dimensions wise. Very pleased with what's arrived.

I’m glad that Mr. P is still prospering and making good hats. It’s a handsome hat.

You should add your hat to the Agnoulita thread when you have the chance.

Panizza in grey. It's a swap with a friend of mine. He got a grey Borsalino which size was too small for me. Both satisfied :)

Sucharipa Wien "Original Öster. Zeugnis / Original Austrian Manufacture", 58 cm, Wool, 175 grams, possibly early 1930s. There is no paper label behind the Sweatband and I couldn't find any production information for Siegmund Sucharipa, Hat Manufacturer, VI District, Bürgerspitalgasse 30, Wien. Siegmund Sucharipa is listed at the same address in the Austrian Hat Industry Guide of 1926. The black Wool Felt has a fine finish. The black Band is of medium width with frayed Bow. The Sweatband and Liner are both Off White. There is a functioning braided Wind Cord. The overall condition is excellent.

I took a shot at a Stetson straw, bought this Royal Flush Gambler on ebay. It's pretty decent hat I just wish it fit my long oval head with out deflecting the brim so badly. Oh well, back to ebay it goes.

I thought about it but it deflects the brim more than I think I could fix. If it doesn't sell maybe I'll try a little harder but my hat shaping skills are still at novice level.

It’s been my experience that trying to fix this type of brim tensioning problem is not worth the effort. Unless you are prepared to strip the hat, re-block it, re-flange it, and put it all back together you are better off selling it and waiting for another in your size and oval. Too bad, it looked nice.

Panama Hats Direct offers up some instructional videos on how to address this problem. I’ve tried it successfully more than once. https://panamahatsdirect.com/hat-care.php
