I gotta hand it to ya Bob, your pics have turned out great lately. Got me double checking stingy’s even!
A beaut!Stefan (@steur ) was close in his guess that this one would turn out to be a Stetson Railbird, but it turns out to be an anonymous model that is very similar.
It does have the 2-1/4" brim with triple stitching, but the crown is a bit shorter at 5-1/4" (4-1/4" as creased).

NO LONGER FOR SALE !!! You missed out :) mid 1950s Stetson Railbird in a gorgeous grey heathered felt This is a very rare hat They almost never show up on the market... and if they do they are absolutely nowhere near this condition This hat is absolutely mint and had never even been...www.thefedoralounge.com
That is a beautiful hat!Goralnik Hat Co. out of Fall River, Massachusetts. Not sure on the date of this one. I find references to the company from 1923 to 1979. This one says "1950s" to me, but I could be off. Nice that that takes a dry crease easily. 2-1/2" brim, 5-1/2" crown. Shame about the mothing.

A beaut!
That is a beautiful hat!
Flower in the moth hole. That worksCirca 1960 Dobbs Twenty. 3" Guild Edge brim with a 5-1/2" crown. Yes, that is a moth hole ... not just a nip. A few nips on the top of the crown as well. A beauty of a hat with a flew flaws, but the biggest flaw is that it's not my size. I really like the felt/ribbon color combo and the proportions on this one.

I confess that I have let go of a lot of bowler hats in this period, I hope not to sadden FL friends in love with this hat.
Some were interesting, but the often small size or the exaggerated price kept me away from them.
This bowler hat has two features that attracted me.
It is a G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro and has a pleated bow that makes it less usual than others
Second reason it has a quite unusual size 5 1/2 which is equivalent to a 58 cm.
It is well preserved and is, unlike many of its companions, light.
These are the measures, the curled brims reach 5 cm ; the crown is 13 cm. and the ribbon measures 3 centimeters.
There are some small flaws such as a slight deformation of the anterior brim visible in the photograph. A very slight trace of dust on the edge of the brims.
Many of you know that I don't have bowler hats in my collection, so anyone interested should write to me privately
It's not like I find such pearls for medium-sized heads every day ;-)
Fabulous congratulations
Thanks Randy. Sometimes I get luckA couple of great hats, gentlemen.
Well, it's dang close to one and pretty sweet whatever it is. I saw that Moon's had blocknumber B702. From what I can tell mine has blocknumber B708 (or maybe B703?). Pity yours doesn't have a label.Stefan (@steur ) was close in his guess that this one would turn out to be a Stetson Railbird, but it turns out to be an anonymous model that is very similar.

Indeed a pity about the mothing, but it is the underside of the brim and it looks pretty good otherwise. Very nice!Goralnik Hat Co. out of Fall River, Massachusetts. Not sure on the date of this one. Whoa, Nelly! That is really something, Randy.
Fantastic colour on that one and a lovely hat as a whole. Good to see a new Borsalino colour again.I bought this Borsalino because it was the first one I saw in this configuration.
View attachment 426641
Then the size was the right one, perhaps with a little luck.

So alas it seems not to be.

Borsalino Antica Casa - Augusta size 6 (french point) or 59 centimeters which becomes a 7 3/8 in the US. A little tight
View attachment 426653 The felt is a Misto Ematite with a Piombo color ribbon.
I have never met an Misto of this color (Ematite https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hematite) with a very short fur felt finish and with two vents on each side.
View attachment 426657
The color Piombo ribbon is pleated and the hem of the brims decorated with the same color.
View attachment 426659
The measurements of this beauty are: the brims are 5.5 cm. the ribbon is 4 cm high. and the open crown is thirteen centimeters.
View attachment 426664
Each side of the crown has two vents and has the same characteristics as a recent Panizza Steur found recently, also sold in Sicily, with slightly furry felt and four vents to mitigate the heat of the Mediterranean island.
Very nice heather, Bob. Great haul of hats. Too bad about the sizing of them.Another one from the "pile". Herbert Johnson heather. The brim is 2-1/4" and the crown is 5" open. The size 7-1/4 tag was loose behind the sweat band.
