Another one I wish fit. I don't own a Nutria (other than this one).

Last one of the bunch. A Stetson No. 1 that has good felt, but a loose ribbon and the sweat band is toast. If there was anyway to make this a size 7-1/2, I'd make the attempt.

You’d lose some brim width, but Robert @belfastboy could size it up and bring it back to life. That hat deserves a new lease on life.

I have several hats made from nutria, but THAT is the nutria I want…in my size of course. Bummer that none of these fit you, but you’re going to make some others very happy and replenish your hat fund! A lot better ROI than the market now.

Wow, what a fantastic haul of hats, Bob! I like all of them, but my vote goes to the Gamebird.

Hat sizes are fraught. The sizing on the band around the perimeter looks to be US, the inside band is probably UK but the other one, I don't mean the metric band. Look where the needle is pointing: US size 7 1/8, UK size 7, the other one, size 5 1/4. That's why I always compare the size to the metric measurement.

There are four sizing systems there: metric, US, UK, and French Point/Punti. The 5 1/4 would be the French Point/Punti sizing.

Incoming. I expected more hats to arrive this week, but sellers can be slow shipping hats sometimes. This one made it though.
Super Bantam Cervo Loden misto Dancalia (now there's a mouthful) fedora. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm and the center dent at 10,5cm. Unlined and NOS. The ribbon is made of a thinned version of the same felt and they made a traditional bow out of it too, which is not something you usually see with these felted ribbons. Weighs 107 grams. Some very nice finishing and attention to detail on this one, like the corded sweatband bow and the hanging loop.

I bought this Brosson hat as a size 58 for a trade. Turned out to be a size 56. The newspaper that was under the sweatband had the date of 13th november 1943 on it, so I'll take that as the date for it.
Laubin homburg in blue grey (colour is called "oriental" on the label) for Brosson of Toulouse. Size 56 with the bound brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Laubin made hats for Sools as well. The factory was based in the Savoy region in Pont de Beauvoisin since 1787 (!). They closed doors in 1955. A well made hat with a very nice hand and excellent finishing. Has a piece of corrugated band between the sweatband and the felt, like some other brands do as well. Not something you see on French hats. Weighs 115 grams.

Oh my goodness. What a haul

I just love hauls like these. Makes me go all giddy.

Holy Homburg, Batman!!

Oh my goodness, that’s so ridiculous

That felt is really cool! Too bad it doesn't fit.

Some great hats there Bob. Too bad on the size. I’m sure you will be able to find em homes.

Now that’s a gem Bob. Beautiful.

I don’t know which I like more: the Game Bird or the 3X LD. Two great hats; sorry they’re too small.

That is in fantastic shape

Looks like you are trying to run a monopoly on the vintage hat market, Bob!

Thanks everyone for the comments and "likes". Looks like I'll be keeping one of these and making it my own (fully aware that I'll be destroying its originality -- I can live with that).
