I’ve always liked the look of the Stratoliner and I’ve been wanting to get a Milan weave in my collection. I’d been thinking about the hemp Stratoliner when I came across this Milan straw one on sale at the shop Etsuko was ordering hats from. It was clearly not a coincidence - it was destined to be. I got the last one in my size.

Hückel Weilheim "Hückel's Clipper" "Melé", 58 cm possibly late 1950s early 1960s. The Felt is a Mix (Melé) with a Rough (Rauh) finish and very soft hand. I have a couple other "Hückel's Clipper" Hats.

My Hornskovs arrived yesterday. Etsuko hid the Christmas one away before I got home from work. I’m really happy with the Mogul. My first Hornskov (the wool one) was a 59 and I felt it was just a little tight. My second, a Broker, was 59 1/2 and after wearing it a while, I decided the 59 was actually the better fit (as it should be - my head measures about 58.7) and I’ve put a little padding under the sweat band of the Broker. This time, I went back to size 59, but told him I was a long oval. Bingo! Clearly my best fitting hat - just perfect! The beaver, bunny blend felt is excellent - a little softer than my 100% beaver and beautiful to the touch. And the hatband is grosgrain.
Bring on Christmas!

Gary, you are the perfect model for Hornskov hats. Still can't quite understand why I don't own one. Kick me off the lounge if I still haven't ordered one by this time next year

This just arrived. I’m not really a bowler guy, but I couldn’t pass this up at the price.

There are some issues with the reed and the sweat stitching has separated in places, but the sweat itself is pretty soft and pliable. I’ll post more pics in the bowler thread.
