The felt and blocking are wonderful. There are some minor defects. The button cord wind trolley is sewn too high where it is anchored, but I don’t really care. However the veneer on the sweatband crumbles off easily. Anyone know how to remedy that? Or maybe I’ll just scrape off as much as I can from the veneer so that my head doesn’t get covered with brown speckles each time I wear it.

Cool find, Jeff. I wonder if the cord button wasn't done that way on purpose and the cord was meant to sit on the brim break, like with this Brent hat.

I didn’t plan on buying this Hückel Chasidko Super, but the hat was offered for what some people pay for a cup of coffee. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it.

The hat is what it is, but I love the ranch in the background. It’s bordered by National Forest on two sides and it’s tucked well off the beaten path and miles from a paved road.
A project hat maybe, Brent? Who knows what could be conjured up from it?

Wow, Stefan
Thanks, Max.

Yeah! I hadn't thought of that. Will you please post it there, @steur ?
I just posted this Stetson 150 sold to me by @BobHufford .
It is tagged 7 1/8, but it fits me perfectly, and I am a 58.5. It doesn't seem to have been stretched or resized. I can't rember if you commented on that, Bob View attachment 333336 View attachment 333337 View attachment 333338 View attachment 333339 View attachment 333340 View attachment 333341 View attachment 333342 View attachment 333343 View attachment 333345

That's a gorgeous hat, Max. And a stroke of luck that it firs you so well.

Why would you need to ask, Stefan? I started the theead, but it isn't mine...
It was a jest on my side, Max. Apart from it being a Borsalino I didn't think it all that unusual. But because it is so uncommon I'll put it there, sure.

That is super cool, Stefan! I tried different configuraions, but the cord is elastic, and too short to sit around the brim break. Oh well, I can try fixing it on a little lower sometime.

Here's a real hat mystery. I obtained two new Stetson Saxons to add to my 1950's style hat collection. The first was ordered from JJ Hat Center in Midnight (Navy). The second was ordered from DelMonico Hatter in Cordova (Dark Brown). The strange part is that while both of these hats are Stetson Saxons, they shipped with completely different hat bands.

The Navy Saxon has a 1 1/8" black band without the Stetson pin (the feather is mine, one was not included). The Cordova Saxon has the as-advertised 1 3/4" brown band with the Stetson pin and feather.

Each of these hats has an identical center crease and an underwelted 2" brim.

Both hats have Stetson liners with Royal Quality branding, so I'm sure that I was shipped the same hat twice.

Here's the sticker from the Navy Saxon. Still, the mismatched hat bands is perplexing.

Knox Premier arrived today and looks much better than expected -- basically new condition with the exception of some wrinkles in the ribbon. It's a beautiful, lightweight hat. Also the first Long Oval I've ever tried on and it fits beautifully. At some point I'll probably revert to my usual brim-down diamond-bash, but for a long time I've wanted to try doing a kind of FDR bash and this seemed like the perfect hat for it. Hard to tell in the photos but the ribbon is a beautiful dark green. One of my new favorites.
