Fox Hats - Custom Made Western
View attachment 322613
Fox Hats - St Paul, MN (likely Langenberg/Beaver Brands)
Bright Bone Felt
5 inch crown as shaped
3 7/8 brim front 3 3/4 sides with 1/8 grosgrain binding
1/4 two ply grosgrain ribbon
Woah Nelly! This is one big hat! Custom Made Western from Fox Hats in St Paul, Minnesota... probably made by Langenberg/Beaver Brands. A super sharp crease in this one. Not sure the age... my guess late 60s early 70s. It is a firm stiff full on Western. Real nice shape over all.. just a few tan spots under the brim.. other than that real clean. A bit out of my comfort zone in styling and size.. but one cool hat for sure.

Both relatively simple, yet wonderful. I'll take one of each in a size 60 please. Thanks, both the two "Classic" I have, the same "big" size, have this not so common bow
If you like one of both I can let them came back to USA

FantasticView attachment 322865 Another lucky strike on Facebook Marketplace. This one was hand delivered yesterday. How's that for service
More in the Toppers Unite thread.
Fantastic
Thanks Joe.
There's already another interesting Top Hat and a very nice looking Borsalino on their way to me via Facebook Marketplace.
I feel a bit like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh being a hat collector in Denmark: I'm the only one
Only one like ya!That's me
Great addition. Nice thing about a black hat is you can accent it with just about any color ribbon and it will look good.My latest hat acquisition is thanks to Boomerang posting too good a deal on it and no one else snapping it up. I showed restraint for a few days but, it was still there. It is a black Fed IV. My first real black hat. I received it in record time earlier and have been too busy to post this week. I keep wondering what it might look like with a charcoal thin ribbon or a navy one. I do have a vintage rust colored thin ribbon which might be interesting on it.

Wow.. what a hat BrentI’m not sure what model this 5X Stetson is. It was sold through Miller Hats, and I’ll keep digging.
The bound brim is just under 5” wide and the crown is just under 6 1/2” tall at that back...that’s the “as creased” measurement and I suspect it’s close to 7” open! This is a large hat. 1 3/4” wide crown ribbon dresses it up a bit. I think I’ll lower the crease a bit when I get around to it.
