Just picked this Royal Stetson. Interesting ribbon. I'm usually a 7 1/4, but with longer hair 3/8 fits perfect. I'm excited to get my hands on this one.

PS: Here is a better picture showing the tag......

That’s a really odd size tag! The Canadian examples are very similar to the keyhole tag but are black and gold. I have seen some Stetsons made by Biltmore that look similar to that but the ones I gave seen where gold not white and I believe where all 60’s / 70’s hats. That’s an old style bow on it as well. Interesting stuff.

Wegener "Seal", 57 cm possibly mid to later 1950s. The felt color and Chamois finish are fantastic. Also like the ribbon width and bow design. Wegener liked to use names of German towns for their colors, in this case "Fritzlar".

Very nice ! What color would you call that ribbon ? I need to replace the ribbon on my similarly colored Disney.

An Adam I picked from our Bay tree of life for $25. The new apple of my eye...[emoji849]
I’d guess late fifties, maybe sixties. It was in very rough condition. There was a terrible blowout in the overwelt. I had to take out the sewn in liner[emoji19]to clean it , too dirty to leave in. The grey ribbon that was on it was beyond cleaning and fixing. Oh well, I’ve been trying to choose one of my hats that would make a good candidate for an aspirational project.

I sewed the ribbon and bow on today. A brand new design by the guy in the photo wearing the hat.
Hardest bow yet...by far.

Excellent Randall !! That bow is killer. I was going to try a shark gill, but may have to copy that one !

You are right about the sweat bow.......somehow I overlooked it......one other option may be Australian? The size tag and sweat bow are quite differant.......and I can not find an example here.....o_O

I saw one of the Australian ones around here recently, and a few months ago on the bay. Both had tags very similar to the standard keyhole tag but metric sizes. I’m interested to see what’s under the sweat when this one arrives. Seems very strange I’ve never seen anything like it, although I’m still relatively new at this.
