I want to thank my friend Bill Hughes for this beautiful Melton Ten. This has to be one of the coolest hats I have ever seen or owned. These are his pictures. With the Holidays I haven't had the time to photo document my recent acquisitions.

Just received a bluegrass green Campdraft for Christmas. I'm really liking the colour. The felt was firm, but not too firm which is better then the two bullet proof fed IVs I have. The only issue was the brim. It was ridiculously stuff, still is, but took the steam well. Now the whole thing is pretty stiff, but I'm sure it will soften over time. View attachment 202134

Great Christmas Present ! That Bluegrass Green is a fabulous color.

Hückel Weiheim "Chamois, 57 cm, possibly late 1950s. The fawn colored felt is lighter weight and easily dry creases. I believe this is the first one I have come across with a thin ribbon and also a wind cord. There are many examples of these HW hats with color coordinated small feathers that I am fairly certain they were installed at the factory.

Excellent find, Steve. The different colour is very nice. I have one with a thin ribbon, but no cord on that one. The total package on this one is great.

It was hard to let go. But I am really trying to stick to my 52 rule.
I was going to mention your Rule 52, but I figure you would. To me, that's an excellent way of going about it. I don't own that many, but even what I own is sufficient. Unless it is super rare or custom, I have no real need to buy much more. I'm happy with what I have.

You know where it is Bill, is not going anywhere [emoji106]

Rare (for me) vintage Lord's hat manufactured by Palco Hats So. Norwalk CT. There is a thread regarding a brief history of Palco Hats in The Lounge. From my understanding, Palco manufactured hats for this store - and I would imagine other mens haberdasheries - in the U.S. What's unique to me about this piece is the fact brim is wider than I've witnessed on a Lord's Hat.. I have another where the brim out to curl is at most 2 1/8 in. Anyway, the felt on this piece is fantastic and will need an adjustment as it has not been worn in a long minute. Here now a few pics...

Very cool. I always love these more obscure brands where you can find some history on them.

Well, re-blocked the Resistol San Antonio and found some other goodies under the hood. Now it sits a bit higher and is not touching my hair. It feels great! It has some waving around the crown, but I need a block to smooth them out. I'll get to it later[emoji275][emoji106]

I found some cool information stickers, including the Union label. I'm trying to find some more information so I can get a ballpark figure as to age. Posted some other stuff to see if you gents can help[emoji106]

Looks great. From my research, that union label was used from 1934 to 1983, so not much help there. The older ones from 1885 to 1934 look like this:

I’m not up on the other age factors for Resistol, so maybe someone else will chime in.

Thanks! That's good information. I have some of those old ones in a few vinti hats but didn't really took the time to research the time period, much appreciated[emoji106]
