Haha, he wore whatever they gave him in style though :)

Indeed some taper in all, in my perception though Mikael's block is more straight than other custom #52 blocks I have. I am always wondering how did bowlers and toppers came off the blocks back in the days ?

I always thought that Bogart wores Stetson Sovereigns

I would like to see the rest of the sweatband as well as any labels behind the sweatband.

I’ll do that later today
There is nothing that would be able to decipher from under the sweatband but a few stamped number on the band itself and of course just the black gold stamp as seen in images earlier

but I’ll do that later today

The Hat Shapers “straight sided dome” block doesn’t have any taper and it’s a bear to get the felt to release. In fact, I’ve distorted felt trying to push it off the block. I know Terry uses his a lot, but I’ve never asked him how he does it.

Then there’s this:

Yeah, those puzzle blocks are cool.

I'm pretty sure somewhere around here is an ad with Bogart hawking Resistol hats. He probably wore and endorsed others, as well.

Rare (for me) vintage Lord's hat manufactured by Palco Hats So. Norwalk CT. There is a thread regarding a brief history of Palco Hats in The Lounge. From my understanding, Palco manufactured hats for this store - and I would imagine other mens haberdasheries - in the U.S. What's unique to me about this piece is the fact brim is wider than I've witnessed on a Lord's Hat.. I have another where the brim out to curl is at most 2 1/8 in. Anyway, the felt on this piece is fantastic and will need an adjustment as it has not been worn in a long minute. Here now a few pics...

Hey, Docta. Fancy seeing you here. [emoji4]

Very nice hat! I always enjoy reading about brands other than the regular flagship brands. One can always find some rare gems like this one.

Enjoy it!

I love seeing your hats, Doc. I really like this wider brimmed lord’s hat too.

I want to thank my friend Bill Hughes for this beautiful Melton Ten. This has to be one of the coolest hats I have ever seen or owned. These are his pictures. With the Holidays I haven't had the time to photo document my recent acquisitions.

Such an elegant hat. The gill work is impeccable and the ribbon contrast perfect. All around gorgeous example.
Bill really did you right with this one.

I originally acquired this hat from FineVintageFedoras an Etsy shop owned by our own Scott aka @bond. He did the ribbon work at my request. Originally it had a standard black bow ribbon which looked nice but I thought it would be nicer with gills. Here is a picture of the original.
