Boulter Redmond. Rich, brown felt. It can be appreciated in the second picture

Just received a bluegrass green Campdraft for Christmas. I'm really liking the colour. The felt was firm, but not too firm which is better then the two bullet proof fed IVs I have. The only issue was the brim. It was ridiculously stuff, still is, but took the steam well. Now the whole thing is pretty stiff, but I'm sure it will soften over time. View attachment 202134
Looks great. Enjoy

Best,
Joe

Max, That Canadian Stetson felt is nice hey? :)

I'm considering two hats from Ivano, one Boulter and one Boulter Redmond. They look to be identical to the ones you have but larger sizes. What are your thoughts?
Both are excellent. I mean it. And they seem brand new!
The Stetson is magnificent. I can't believe it's so old.

Sounds good! I think I will go for the Bolter Redmond 'The Tower' as I like the shape a bit better, seems like it has a taller crown also. Thanks for the input
Go for both. You won't regret it. They are out of a time machine! Other hats I have seen that are from multiple hat "finds" have defects like discoloration or moth tracks. These are brand new.
They are also rare brands. You will never find them again.

That's one mighty fine hat you've caught there, Max. Fabulous.

Russian hat. It has a straw-woven size adapter on the inside.

Amazing that your daughter manages not to look more embarassed. You did have to hang on to her for the picture it seems though:)

Another nice find, Max. I like the look of these vintage pugs a lot.

1930s Canadian Standard Quality Stetson. Immaculate. It even smells new.

Fantastic hat and the workmanship is stunning.

Boulter Homburg. 1910, maybe?

Yep, that's another stellar hat. So glad these are not my size!

Borsalino Mirtillo is always good. This one no exception.
I finally got a Herbert Johnson. I like the shape, but the felt is obvously rabbit. A little stiff, and the liner was glued in. Hmmm. I had heard they're good hats. Maybe they were better in the old days.

It does look good, but the later English hats show a tendency to cut cost and just bank on their name alone. Christys, Lock&Co, Bates and Herbert Johnson all show this: reduced quality and inflated prices unfortunately.

Well, I am glad I found that out after buying only one. The Locks I have are older and good, and I don't have a Christys
